Our Sapulpa firefighters are great and we can not afford to lose one station as our city continues to grow. What can we do to stop this?

You can pay more taxes. Hurry up and start a petition before your house burns down. You could also buy more from stores in Sapulpa instead of spending all your money at the casino.

Do post pictures of these signs, or is this just a trick to get me to go on a storm sewer tour in Sapulpa and maybe buy lunch while I'm there?

the fire dept union does not cost the city, the fireman pay dues from their money to have a fire ran union that fights for their jobs

Vote out all the GOB's - but careful though, you might end up at the bottom Heyburn. Frankly, I tell every young person I see, get the heck out of Sapulpa & Oklahoma!

Or you can tell them to stand and fight for Sapulpa and Oklahoma. But I know...that's old school and would take too much effort. On second thought, please, you and those who think like you, do leave. Let those of us who still love this place stand and fight for it. We don't need those who will cut and run at the first sign of resistance hindering our efforts. It's much easier to complain. Right?

What do unions have to do with it? They caused people to quit spending money in Sapulpa? They caused the economic downturn in some mysterious, conspiracy theory way that no one but you can see? They got firefighters a decent wage and benefits so they should be banned? Everyone can go back to working with no protection from government and corporate greed because you think so? Please, enlighten us, Brainiac.

Sapulpa needs leaders with vision and want-to. The good-ol'-boy system has destroyed what once was a VERY vibrant town. Can we say Bartlett-Collins and Liberty Glass? Bring back Dewey Street! Put leaders in place who will give businesses tax incentives to come to town.

Please tell me how the artical in the sapulpa paper has gone without notice? "The City's own attorney David Widdoes, and his secretary are budgeted for $164298 for the 2010-2011 year. This reflects a 3.9 percent increase over last year." it goes on to say there is an increase of 6% at $37,540 for "Professional Services". It also says the city hired an outside attorney to do the negotiations. Why? you just gave your city attorney a raise, let him earn it. it also says "DeArmen said the City is looking at a total revenue picture and watching expenditures closely." Is that the same man that was in the legal news going thru foreclosure? Yep folks that is the same guy. How do they agree on a contract and a few days later lay people off?

Why would you pay some union dooooshbag to negotiate your wage so you can keep working for an ahole employer that you very much dislike cause they wont pay you a decent wage? Find a better place to work for petes sake!

So we can save the lives and property of dooooshbags like you, and also everyone else including the mayors, city managers, and council that want to bash firefighters and cops for belonging to a union. Are you gonnna do the job? No.. but some of us will cause we love the job. So forgive us for wanting to make a decent living doing it. You will need the help of a firefighter or paramedic someday and i bet they help you even if you act like a doooshbag...

If you want to be a firefighter, you are rather limited on where you can work. It's not like being a plumber.

Are you a history teacher at the high school who likes Indian food? If so, I think I know you and yes, we need to organize.

Get rid of the union!! Through collective bargaining the union has raised the wages of the firemen, or should I say firepeople astronomically to the point where the tax base of the city is no longer able to pay. Same with the police dept. With the advent of the internet where you can order at your home many things and get them taxfree as well as free shipping in many cases it is not wonder the city's don't have the tax money they once did. The answer is lower the taxes, fix the roads, get rid of the hoods, and the business will return to the city. Oh and another thing, get rid of the demorats in November. Can you connect the dots, labor unions, demorats, and broke citys?? Look at the community organizer in d.c., any questions???

No, I don't teach at Sapulpa - don't play politics, they won't hire me!! Pick a public place & we can meet & talk.
