I have known ken Adair for several years and he is a very dedicated person to doing what is right. He knows the law and knows how to apply the law in any given situation. Ken Adair will make an excellent District Judge for Creek, Okmulgee and Okfuskee Counties. Just watch the crime rate decrease when Ken Adair is elected. Say good-bye to Child Molesters and
Child Rapist, Meth Labs, Meth heads and Dopers.

Would you help Maley slip across the street for a quickie fix or grease him down with blubber from the Boss Hogg of Beggs?

SENTENCE MODIFIED FOR MAN CHARGED IN INFANT’S DEATH
By Patrick Ford Okmulgee Daily Times published July 2009

A Mounds man charged in the death of his granddaughter had his prison sentence modified Tuesday in Okmulgee county District Court.
Denvil Mark Taylor, 49, has been charged in CR-2005-121 with a felony count of Manslaughter in the First Degree in the death of Courtney Nicole Freeman, age 7 months.
Court documents show Taylor was accused of taking Courtney and swinging/and or throwing her into the air by her feet, which resulted in her striking a solid object or objects, causing multiple skull fractures and brain injury resulting in her death.
Taylor was sentenced in June 2008 to five years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
Appearing for Taylor was Attorney Carla Stinnett and Assistant district Attorney Rob Barris represented the state.
A large group of family was on hand to support Taylor.
After hearing statements from both sides, Judge John Maley modified Taylor’s sentence to two years in prison, with credit for time served and four years of probation (two years supervised).
The district attorney’s office was extremely displeased the sentence.
District Attorney Tom Giuloli state,“This defendant is a man that took the life of a young baby that was entrusted in his care for safekeeping. This is a man that told three different stories to law enforcement about the injuries the baby sustained. One injury was she hit her head on the table, another was she hit her head on the ground and the final story was “I threw her up in the air and was hit by a fan that was circling above.”
“This man has never admitted his guilt. He entered what is called a “blind plea” which he chose not to plead guilty but to say that “the state can prove me guilty so I’m going throw myself upon the mercy of the court.” And at that time after a lengthy hearing and litigation and aggravation was presented the court said the appropriate sentence-even though the state recommended 20 years which we thought was fair – the state gave him a five year sentence which was extremely light for this type of crime.”
“And here we are now, a year later, after litigation was presented the first time, now the court sees fit to basically turn the defendant loose back to society and say that “even though we told you that you were going to serve five years that’s really not what we’re doing – we’re going to say that you only have to serve one year for killing a child.” And I don’t think that sends a good message to the people of this county and I don’t think it sends a good message to the defendant because basically it’s saying that “even though we told you that you were going to be accountable after a formal and fair hearing in the court for a five year sentence of incarceration, we’re now giving you a one year sentence. And we’re extremely disappointed with the sentence and it sends a bad message to society.”
In an interview with the judge on the matter, Maley stands by his decision and feels that Taylor has gotten the message and will have to live with what happened for the rest of his life. After looking at his record while incarcerated, the judge felt that the defendant had taken steps to better himself and Taylor felt remorse about the incident.

JUDGE RELEASES PRISONER AFTER 4 MONTHS
By Fran Callaway Times Mainstream Editor published August 23, 1995

Okmulgee County District Judge John Maley released local woman from prison after serving four months on drug charges.
Brenda Powdrill had been sent to prison May 12 on three five year drug-related sentence that were to run concurrently. She was found guilty of:
• Unlawful delivery of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school
• Unlawful possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school

When Ms. Powdrill was arrested, she was operating a day care center across the street from Eastside Elementary School. After stopping a car leaving the day care center, police found marijuana in the possession of the automobile’s driver. The driver admitted where it had been obtained, according to District Attorney Tom Giulioli. Police got a search warrant for her premises on the basis of “probable cause.”
“When we went into the house to search we found between two and three pounds of marijuana. The value is about $1,200 per pound to the dealer, but the street value would have been much higher than that,” Giulioli said.
On Tuesday afternoon, according to Rob Barris, First Assistant District Attorney, Judge Maley suspended the sentence in full.
“Judge Maley said he believed she’d learned her lesson. She received a four year and eight months suspended sentence for the offenses,“Barris said.“The first two years of the suspended sentence will be supervised,” he said.
“I received a letter from the Department of the Treasury telling me that Ms. Powdrill had been cooperating fully with their department in singling out other illegal drug dealers,” Maley said.“In addition, Ms. Powdrill was a first-time offender who is not a personal drug user. She’s had a smell of the place (prison), and I think she’s learned her lesson. I believe some people can be rehabilitated and think she’s one of them.”
Giulioli disagreed with the judge’s ruling.
“Our original sentencing recommendation was 25 years per count, to run consecutively. Giulioli said,“We’re disappointed that an individual selling drugs next to school property and using kids to deliver it only spent four months in prison.
Due to her felony conviction Ms. Powdrill cannot reopen her child care center.

What has Adair done.Does he have any experience.Other than an lawyer, that wants to send you rehab instead of winning a case.I know of a few people with drug sells that he got probation despite having prior felonys on same charge. Its hard to be on both side of fence.I wouldnt vote for either. If I had a choice.

Voted For John Maley

Judge Maley is a good man who KNOWS the community. He is good at his job and cares for the people. Plus, I do not think Adair is competent. Did you know he was fired and can't even get a job in his own county. That just screams TROUBLE!!

Doesn't matter what this poll shows for State wide Votes. District 24 (3 Counties) are going 3 to 1 in favor of Ken Adair. Okmulgee, Okfuskee and Creek counties all three favor KEN ADAIR over John Maley.
