If they polled people in Tulsa I can see the results...Tulsa is essentially a sanctuary city even though we have laws against it. Sanctuary cities need to end! Take away all federal and state funds from them and prosecute the city leaders under federal laws for aiding and abetting!

The new Gov is anti-illegal and has support from the majority of her citizens.

That dog will not hunt! Some work hard, some are lazy. They work cheaper and the American job still pays more than what is paid in their home countries. Some use ITIN's and pay taxes but you forgot to mention those who do contract work with no taxes taken out and never file their 1099 and how about those who are in construction, landscaping, etc. and are many times paid in cash? Do you really think they pay taxes and how is IRS going to track them down when most of them have so many different AKA's that it's surprising if any of them even remember their birth name?
Why would they need Medicare when they use our ER's as their primary care physicians and their American born children qualify for medicaid?
There are those who do get tax refunds and even get earned income credit because of all the dependents they claim.
So tell me, these hard working illegal aliens, why have they not worked so hard to make their home countries great? Could it be because they can live off the American tax payers while they save their money to retire back in their home countries? Could it be simply greed?

Are these the same "hard working people" who tried to jack $900.00 our of my checking acct. to send to Mexico? Yeah, right - busy working and sending money back to Mexico to support Mexico's economy.

I would agree that many are criminals but most are hard working people wanting a better life for their family. American companies use them for cheep labor for there high profits. They pay taxes and social security and medicare and will never benefit from from them. To bad you have such hatred for others that are less fortunate than you.

Why are do you single out illegals when there are more American citizens than illegals doing what you describe? You should not be so prejudice.

Take your prejudice and shove it! These are programs that have been set up and paid for by American tax payers for the use of American citizens. Illegal aliens take advantage of these programs and many are using stolen SS#'s in order to do that.
My daughter in law of 10 years is from Mexico and she along with the rest of her family came here legally. I have nieces who are from Puerto Rico, and a dear family friend from Iran (Persia when he came here). I have worked with and been close friends with people from many countries and fought for the rights of a gentleman from China who worked with me.
We have illegal aliens from more than 70 different countries in the United States so why don't you tell me just which ones I am prejudices against.
Illegal aliens broke the law when they came here illegally or over stayed their visa's. Why should they be considered special and given special treatment when we have millions who are trying to come here legally and become proud Americans? Some of those trying to come legally have been waiting as long as 10 years. These are the people who deserve to come here and be welcomed.

Really now? And what do you base this on?
First of all, if the person is illegal, they have already broken the laws. Second of all, I have lived here almost 25 years and I have and this happens. I was almost robbed by someone trying to send my money to Mexico. Don't think it was an American doing it, as it was going to Mexico. The heart and soul of most Mexicans reside in Mexico, not the USA.

Mayor Touts Sanctuary Policy After Illegal Alien Murders Teen

The mayor of Texas' largest city blames a "failed federal immigration
policy" for the recent murder of a teenager yet has the audacity to
publicly defend her municipality's longtime sanctuary measures protecting
illegal aliens.

Earlier this week a previously deported illegal immigrant with a lengthy
criminal record gunned down a 14-year-old girl in Houston as she walked home
from a party. The girl, Shatavia Anderson, was shot in the back after a
confrontation near her home. The 22-year-old triggerman (Melvin Alvarado) is
a Honduran national who has twice been convicted of drunken driving and has
served time in Harris County Jail. Federal officials deported him on two
occasions-in 2008 and 2009-but he still managed to return to his adopted
hometown of Houston.

That's probably because the city of about 2.4 million residents has long
offered illegal immigrants sanctuary and even forbids its police department
from asking suspects' about their legal status. In an effort to change that
policy, Judicial Watch sued the Houston Police Department last year on
behalf of a sergeant whose husband, also a Houston Police officer, was
killed in the line of duty by a previously deported illegal alien with a
criminal history.

Houston Mayor Annise Parker, who favors U.S. citizenship for illegal
immigrants, is in denial about the role sanctuary measures play in crimes
like the recent Anderson shooting or the Houston police officer's murder a
few years ago. Ardently defending Houston's sanctuary policies, she claims
that "the problem is not illegal immigration" but rather the federal
government's inability to keep foreigners out when they break criminal laws.

Third Officer Shot By Illegal Alien In Sanctuary City

A third law enforcement officer in one of the nation's biggest sanctuary
cities has been shot by an illegal immigrant who was protected by a don't-ask-don't-tell
immigration policy during previous police encounters.

The Houston Police Department's longtime rule prohibiting officers from
questioning suspects about immigration status has cost the department dearly
in the last few years. Two officers have been murdered and one shot in the
face by illegal immigrants with previous records.

The latest shooting occurred just last week when an illegal alien from
Mexico killed an undercover police officer during a sting operation. The
illegal immigrant (Roberto Pedroza Carrillo) had been deported about a
decade ago and ticketed by Houston police at least four times since 2002,
most recently in November, according to a news report.

Last month another Houston officer was shot in the face by an illegal
immigrant drug lord while attempting to serve a narcotics warrant at a
house. The illegal alien from El Salvador had been arrested five times for
possession or delivery of drugs, including three times after an immigration
judge granted him voluntary departure in 2001.

In 2007 Houston officer Rodney Johnson was murdered during a routine traffic
stop by a Mexican illegal that had been deported in 2004 for molesting a
child and subsequently arrested for driving intoxicated, driving with a
suspended license and failing to stop and provide information after an
automobile accident. The illegal alien, Juan Quintero, shot Officer Johnson
four times in the back of the head with a 9 millimeter handgun hidden in the
waistband of his pants.

Even before this month's murder, the Houston Police Officer's Union called
on city leaders to reverse the department's 17-year-old don't-ask-don't-tell
immigration measure because it had led to the brutal shootings of two
officers. Both the mayor and the police chief refuse to change the sanctuary
policy because they consider it crucial to policing city neighborhoods.

Texas has several major sanctuary cities-including Austin, El Paso, Fort
Worth, Dallas and San Antonio-that forbid law enforcement agencies from
asking suspects about their immigration status. Houston, the state's largest
city, is estimated to have nearly half a million illegal immigrants who will
remain protected under the law.

Obama Justice Department has made clear that it will not take action against
local governments that violate the federal statute by offering illegal
immigrants sanctuary.

The 14-year-old law (Illegal Immigration Reform and
Immigration Responsibility Act of 1996) specifically requires states and
municipalities to cooperate with federal authorities when it comes to
immigration enforcement.

As a state, Iowa has long been friendly to illegal immigrants. For years
state lawmakers have worked to pass a measure to give illegal aliens
discounted in-state tuition at public colleges and universities. The state's
renowned meatpacking factories are also magnets for undocumented workers. A
few years ago, hundreds of illegal aliens were arrested at local meatpacking
plants in the nation's largest workplace raids.

Source: Inter-American Development Bank, March 2006 report,“Remittance 2005”. Mexico remains the largest recipient of remittances, at over US$20 billion, followed by Brazil and Columbia which for the first time reached over US$6 and US$4 billion respectively. Central America and the Dominican Republic combined to reach over US$11 billion; and the Andean countries totaled almost US$9 billion.

As much as 50% of remittances are unreported. As published in the Development Prospect Group Briefing #3, "This amount only reflects transfers through official channels. Econometric analysis suggests that unrecorded flows through informal channels may add 50 percent or more to recorded flows. Including these unrecorded flows, the true size of remittances, is larger than foreign direct investment flows and more than twice as large as official aid received by developing countries."

American Workers Continue to Pick up Jobs Left Vacant by Immigration Raids

A new report in USA Today finds that unemployed U.S. citizens continue to
fill up jobs left vacant by immigration raids, particularly at meatpacking
and poultry plants. The reports says that plants impacted by the raids were
back up and running at full capacity within months of the raids.
Vanderbilt University professor Carol Swain said the raids were beneficial
to the American workforce.

"Whenever there's an immigration raid, you find white, black and legal
immigrant labor lining up to do those jobs that Americans will supposedly
not do," Prof. Swain said in the USA Today article.

The USA Today report cites a study conducted by Steven Camarota at the
Center for Immigration Studies that found Americans holding the majority of
positions in fields that many claim are dominated by illegal aliens.
