What makes them anti American? Because they believe in humanitarian aid or because they disagree with Iraeli policies? By that test there are a lot of "anti-American" Americans.

Don't you think it's time for you to learn how to write English correctly? It will improve the appearance of your posts, even though the substance will remain unchanged.

Israel should be ashamed. The US needs to admit we are wrong and cut aid to Israel. Imperialism is doomed. The Palestinian people will never back down. I hope all hostages are released unharmed.

This is not a border issue as it happened in international waters. It was an act of piracy.
If you don't like the US don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Geographically you are correct. But Gaza is an imminent threat and shares a border with Israel. It is a pre-emptive protective action.

Why are bringing up **** from 1967? And the USS Liberty was a spy ship.
How about the Palestinians murder of Americans? Or celebrating when we were attacked on 9/11?
So apparently you believe that Israel was correct to attack our ship in international waters? Interesting.

Desperate people do desperate things. If the goal is to rid the world of Palestinians then they need to just hurry up and do it. Dragging it out over the next couple of hundred years is not helping anyone.

This ship was in international waters. Except for an act of war or aggression that violates international law, what right did the Israelis have to "board" the ship at that point? And once the Israelis initiated boarding, why did the people on the ship -- probably genuinely fearful given the Israeli's record on human rights and knowledge surely of the Israeli hatred of anyone professing sympathy with the Palestinians -- not have the right to fear what might happen and defend themselves? The Israelis have said the blockade was to prevent rearmament of Gaza, and made all kinds of inflammatory statements about how the people on that ship were not "humanitarians" but activists bent on supporting Palestinian attacks on Israel, possibly carrying weapons, etc. Has there been any evidence of that since the seizure? Is there a display of armaments seized from the boarded ship? Have the Israelis trotted out specific people aboard that ship with evidence that they are fomenting violence against Israel? Israel brought any attack on its soldiers on itself when it boarded this ship in international waters. Did Israel attempt to diplomatically deal directly with the ship, with Turkey, with any country whose citizens were on it before simply boarding in what appeared to be a potentially fearsome attack?
Helen: Did Hamas attempt to diplomatically deal directly with Israel, with any of its citizens, before simply launching rockets in what appeared to be a potentially fearsome attack?

Obviously Israel, unlike Hamas, does not have the goal "to rid the world of Palestinians"
Now, what is the goal of Hamas?

"Love it or leave it". Isn't that what you guys like to say? If you don't like how our government handles it's borders then you are free to leave.

BTW there are plenty of pansy conservatives that have done nothing to improve our border security either. It really is not a liber vs. conservative issue. Life is not that black and white.

I have not mentioned Hamas once. Are you under the impression that all Palestinians are part of Hamas? That is like saying that all Jews are Zionists. So what is Isreal's goal? It sure doesn't appear that they want peace.

Ofcourse you didn't mention Hamas! "All Palestinians" in Hamasland are under the control
of Hamas. Otherwise, they'd stop the rockets? Right? Or, they'd have REAL peace marches
and demonstrations and not the thugs flying a white flag while holding steel pipes sham.
Israel's goal is to survive. Again, what is the stated. written and oft repeated goal of Hamas?

I believe the flotilla participants desire to provoke the Israelis was greater than their desire to deliver relief goods....

otherwise they simply would have turned over the humanitarian relief items to the Israelis who offered safe delivery.

Helen - First of all, consult Websters on the word "Blockade". Then spend some time reading about what is REALLY happening there instead of typing hateful, spun baloney about Israel. I imagine you find it irresistible and chic to regurgitate the liberal pap you overhear in Starbucks or wherever it is you are getting your news. This kind of politically-correct victim-worship crap is what's getting idiots (activists) like Sheetz drawn into situations she has no business involved in. Unfortunately, she'll return to the states and instead of hanging her head in shame and going into hiding (as she should) she'll be lauded as some kind of Mother Teresa-like hero for being an ignorant dupe and used as a shield for those who would use humanitarian efforts as a spear to stab at the heart of a neighbor.

What a surprise, Left wing Marin Wackos functioning as useful idiots for Hamas.

If the Palestinians unilaterally lay down their arms there would be peace.

If the Israelis unilaterally lay down their arms there would be a massacre.

I don't think Webster's on "blockade" is the appropriate resource. An international maritime law specialist said the claims of both sides,ie., that boarding in international waters was definitely criminal; or that it definitely was legal because there is a conflict and a blockade; are both right and wrong. There are very specific legal definitions based on specific facts, and the situation is not so clear here.
