Health Care reform is desperately needed. But the Bill that passed the House is not reform, its a ridiculous assortment of handouts to various special interests. It stands no chance of going into law and if it did, it could further bankrupt the Country. What Pelosi did was cater to her political best interests. as usual, she did not serve the American people.

I agree that some sort of Health Care reform is needed, but this isn't the right time or the right Bill. Our country is having huge problems with the economy - record unemployment, foreclosures, and businesses of all sizes are struggling to stay afloat. The deficit is out of control, and by adding this monstrosity of debt to our already flailing economy, it will bring what's left of our economy to it's knees. Taxing an already struggling individual, family, or business will not help bring our economy back. Cutting medical benefits to seniors will also backfire - who is going to pick up those extra costs for them? Their families, who are going to already be paying more taxes?

How about taking some small steps first to try and get insurance costs down. Allowing insurance to be sold across state lines would open up the market and bring down rates. Whenever there is competition prices go down to bring in more clients. How about tort reform? Ridiculous law suits cost everyone more in one way or another. It is ridiculous to move forward on this bill without trying to fix our current system - kind of like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
