Maintaining a long-existing, family-owned, non-chain hardware should be an straightforward for the Larkspur planning staff and the council. Why has this taken over six months to consider? Corbett’s Hardware is a precious community asset and should be treated as such. It is time to show leadership the community deserves and expedite the process to relocate Corbett's to the new location. Preserving Larkspur's small town character means saving businesses that are the fiber of the small town. A neighborhood hardware is the nuts and bolts of that equation.

I am confused. I was raised in Sonoma County, but just recently moved back to the Bay Area from Seattle, and I have been getting mailings about Corbett's being forced to move. I do not understand why a business would need to be diplaced if it paid its taxes and provided service to the community. Can someone please provide me the back-story on this?
Thank you. |
