The only person w/ AK-47's were the Kops wasting time w/their dragnet. This loser never had an auto weapon. So he threatened to kill someone. Wake up and get your facts right.
There is nothing to be made of this story except for political posturing by Mitchell.

Yeah right, bet you can't wait for Rivero to be in charge, he will give a hope and change speech and all the violent criminals will lay down their arms and surrender peacefully.

Besides that the media thinks every rifle used in a crime is an "AK-47 Assault Rifle"

Either way the suspect was armed and dangerous Ak or not and was handled appropriately.

"he spotted Colcleaser and the suspect took off running, Bauman said. While the deputy chased Colcleaser on foot over fences and through yards, the suspect dropped a handgun but turned around and picked it back up before fleeing again."

The news here tois that officer could not open fire as soon as this guy picked up the gun!

Instead the criminal had more time to do harm. He should have been shot right then and there. Period.

and to try to make this into some political gain somehow is just insane.

"handled appropriately"? The perp got away, who's side are you on? BTW, AKs are still legal here, they just changed the name to get around the ban.

I was wondering how long it would take Rivero and his supporters to turn this into a political issue.

Full o' beans fed up - he ran right past my neighbor who was readying his truck for work. If he had a gun it wasn't readily visible (certainly no AK!) and if he were interested in anything other than being angry with his cousin, he'd have taken my neighbor or his truck or both. Or just about anyone around here as we went on with our daily business. Hey, we've had to adapt around here. Our local cartel crank dealer finally got a little bit of county time YEARS after his bust. We're heavily armed around here and figure we've really been on our own for many years.

Neighbor showed the deputy where the guy was at in the creek but the deputy was out of shape and already winded. The other deputy in a cruiser was on 8th and had no ability to catch this guy when he bolted out of the creek. Calling in the copter was a huge waste of money. And only blocking the avenues at 20 AND NOT AT COUNTRY CLUB was pure genius. Not. To whom may I send that thank you note?

Copying someone is flattering because it shows you want to be like that person. Child: Susie's doing everything I do. Make her stop. Mother: Don't be cross with her. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Um..excuse me but it was the Sheriff's office that was involved. That has EVERYTHING to do with Mitchell...right or wrong.

The fact that they caught this guy before he did something to hurt an innocent person seems to be overlooked by some. Whatever they spent yesterday searching for this guy is a pittance in comparison to the value of a life. Had he killed someone Donna would be one of the first screaming from the mountain tops that they didn't do enough to catch him. Must be nice to be able to armchair quarterback from the safety of your computer.

Fugitive captured in Lake County

Johnny Colcleaser

A Vallejo man, whose alleged death threat against a cousin spurred a day-long manhunt in Lucerne, was apprehended Monday night.

Johnny Colcleaser, 27, was booked into the Lake County jail on suspicion of resisting arrest, parole violation and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to booking records.

A multi-agency manhunt began Monday morning after a 24-year-old Lucerne man reported Colcleaser was armed and had threatened to kill him, Lake County Sheriff's officials reported.

Law officials launched a search that included a foot chase, helicopter surveillance, the deployment of a SWAT team and evacuations of businesses and a school.

At about 9 p.m., a tip led officers to a residence on 4th Avenue, said Sheriff's Capt. James Bauman.

Colcleaser had gone to the home, which belonged to a stranger, seeking dry clothing and a ride out of the county, he said.

Deputies arriving at the residence spotted Colcleaser inside, peeking at them from around a corner. He was ordered to show his hands but instead tried to flee. Deputies blocked his attempted escape and took him into custody, Bauman said.

Colcleaser was unarmed when arrested and denied knowledge of a weapon, he said. Earlier in the day, a deputy reported seeing Colcleaser drop and retrieve a handgun, Bauman said.
