Dave and Busters is just a Chuckie Cheese for adults. Being native Vallejoan, I hate to be skeptical or negative but this just doesn't sound like a "happy marriage" in Vallejo. We need solid retail businesses, not another bar.

Yeah if you build it, they will come. "They" being every pantdragging, lowlife troublemaker loser that Vallejo has. If this place DID open, the lowlifes would ruin it. Someone would end up shot, robbed, or mugged. Vallejo has waaaaay too many pantdragging losers to make anything like this work.

Yes, that's what we need ... another mediocre chain restaurant. And a Chuck E. Cheese for adults at that...

Ever wonder what it would be like if people would get behind a good thing for Vallejo ? If this was Lafayette or Walnut Creek this idea would be welcomed with a parade. Period, point blank, this city can afford to do what it wants and that is NUFFIN ! i said this in a previous post last year, and the gud ol boy's and gurl's here shot it to the curb on a blog. Vallejo, is closed minded whether they can produce the loot or not, all they allow here is a freak'n street to get a pothole and tree's cut down on Virginia St. and let the owner of that so called bbq joke have anything done, he must of fed the right people here some good fresh meat instead of the reanimated food he serve's the public :) Guess you have to sleep wit enough tool's to get what u want in this kon'tray spot.

Same o Same wrote: Ever wonder what it would be like if people would get behind a good thing for Vallejo? Yes, many times! As an example, this D & B restaurant idea and effort by a previous Vallejo resident who is contemplating returning to his city, is being nixed by most. Reality check, if you do not believe that the business would bring any value to you or your family, DO NOT PATRONIZE THE BUSINESS! What is so hard about that? It makes me wonder how all those hated corporations, i.e.Wal-Mart, McDonald's, Starbucks, etc. ever made it in this world? I have never been to a D & B, I will try it once and if I do not like it, end of story! That does not mean I would not support this young man in his quest to bring D & B to Vallejo. Obviously he has done a lot more lately than many of us, like practicing key board journalism! With a zero success rate to attract other ventures that initially contemplated opening shop and never did for various reasons, the whole community loses, not just anticipated revenue, but confidence.

the city ought to clain imminent domain on that eye sore on the other side of the road from home depot and now the new toyota car dealership. a bunch of delapadated whatevers and a unkempt appearance plus although i love horses that is just not appropriate place and work to develope that land (it's for sale) and bring in an in/out burger, a book store, a burlington coat factory, a marie calendars, so on and so forth. i love the idea of lowes but bring in some more name brang stores we deserve it too. vallejo needs to do something dramatic with mare island that's more touristy. it seems like it dying on the vine. so sad i have lived here 1965 and vallejo has never been more than this. come on vallejo.

Mare Island would be an ideal location for an IKEA. It would pull customers in from the 101 corridor in Marin and Sonoma county, as well as Solano and possibly northern Contra Costa. The major exit could be on Highway 37 as it already has been improved. Has City Hall ever thought about talking to IKEA?

Has City Hall ever thought about talking to IKEA? i'm still waiting for marti brown to demonstrate her claims of "discussions" with a university in the downtown, otherwise it's no more than another idea. we have plenty of those, just no meat to show. show us something, isn't there an email or something, anything, or does this fall into the "back room deal" category? personally, i think this is the craziest idea yet. we need more than just imagine it.

Folks think about this. You want to have a Marie Callandars here? Lyon's on Adm. Callaghan was originally a 24hr restaurant until a number of robberies made it close at midnight. We had a Toys-R-Us, between a robbery (where one of the robbers was shot and killed) and the corporate Headquarters seeing the store was not making enough and the store closed. I am for bringing business into this city, but we need both a city council and mayor that are pro-business. As for Mare Island, as I said in a previous post, do what Benicia did with the Benicia Arsenal (former Army Base) and turn it into an Industrial Park, not more houses that will not sell. LENNAR HAS GOT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!

So many negative comments on here! I'm one of those dreamer's that is part of the D&B Facebook page. If you guys are so sick of the BS in Vallejo, then do something about it! I agree with a lot of you when it comes to the problems that Vallejo face's. I agree that we have had a lot of joke's in the city government and the lack of any emergency personal has caused problems. I agree with bringing big box to Vallejo, let's put good business's in these abandon buildings, let's get jobs back in this town, and let's get out there and get Vallejo back! Some of you sit here and talk about how the "ghetto" and "pant hanging" people run this town, but if you don't get out there and do something then your just as bad as the scum who is out there on the streets! Support the good in this town, and the dreamer's who see the promise in Vallejo.

Dave and Buster Headquarters is probably reading this blog. They see all the Vallejoans bashing their own town. I'm pretty sure that negative impression from the locals is definitely not helping out this young man's cause.

Dave and Busters can use the Home Depot building once Lowes runs them into the ground. I think all new places like this should stay away from the downtown and Mare Island because there is not anough traffic. Plus it is the Solano county section 8 capital. i cant wait until Lowes opens up. this home depot sucks balls. the employees are rude and can speak a lick of english. im not talking spanish speaking im talking the rude ebonics banana eaters.
