I had the oppornity of buying my weapon when I left the USMC..I was MARDET (Marine detachment) on a nuclear powered carrier, guarding reactors when I was'nt baking..
Anyways M-16, or M-4's are'nt very smart in a steel ship, so we were all armed w/ 870's, 1911 colt, and cannister grenades.
Miltary issued 870's are pretty much like a short deer shotgun, same sights, slug bore, and for 20 bucks more than Mossberg, You can get a 28" full choke duck Bbl.

So who do you guard reactors from on a large carrier? Stowaway terrorists, disgruntled deck apes or dirty bilge rats, or what.

This rat was Army all the way. During the Reagan years. I think the only country we invaded during my time was Grenada. Reagan was a pretty good President, but he didn't invade nearly enough countries.
