But wait, aren't the projects that could never be built without the increased funding from the failed tax measures being built right now? Hwy 12 widening and the huge waste of money known as the truck scale fiasco.

No matter how much of our money these beaurocrats steal from us, it will never be enough. We are already paying more than enough for existing road maintenance, it is just being wasted on other things.

Nonsense. We need better roads, wider highways, and a modern truck scale along I-80. With less highway tax money coming in, we need to add a mileage tax to all those who use the public roads. A surcharge for anyone that lives in a rural area too since those roads cost more to maintain and bus service is more expensive in places like Rio Vista or Birds Landing. All cattle and sheep should be taxed to pay for their carcass clean up when they wander out on the road because of a careless "rancher" or herder. All wine should be taxed heavily to make sure the roads around vineyards are maintained and winos that cause accidents are made to pay for what they have done, county supervisors are exempt.

Lets start with a really FAT tax on NGV's and then bicycles, about $25,000.00 each sounds about fair.

I like it. Tax all vehicles. Tax trucks and trailers too. All vehicles with a mileage tax based on miles driven. Add a GPS to all vehicles to track it. Either pay or your vehicle will be confiscated for good of society.

"Vallejo parking garage may have led to contaminated grounwater" t.h. story today.
well, NOW we know why all those green tanks are parked at the new parking garage. here is what a state official had to say about the contaminated groundwater problem that has been rumored and now confirmed.
""If they hadn't stuck their parking garage below the water table they wouldn't have to take all these steps," Hill said. "One might say it's an inevitable problem."
a real "duuhhhh!" moment, with kleinschmidt wearing a deluxe omelet on his face. why this guy is still employed here is beyond me. this is going to cost US to fix the problem, there's no grant for recovering from stupidity!
