Two shootings within an hour may be related

A woman was shot in a drive-by Saturday night in North Vallejo, police said. Her injuries were considered non-life threatening.

Police responded at about 6:50 p.m. to a report of a shooting on Wendy Street at Taper Avenue. The victim and a few other people were inside the house when the shots were fired, police said.

Multiple shell casings were seen on the ground, and a car parked in the home's driveway was visibly shot out. The home also was hit multiple times by bullets, police added.

The woman, whose age and name were not immediately known, was taken into an area hospital by ambulance.

Witnesses told police that the vehicle associated with the shooter or shooters was a white or light blue, full-size pick-up truck with an extended cab.

It may also have a front-end damage, police added, since it might have also been involved in an earlier shooting in the area.

About an hour before the Wendy Street shooting, police responded to reports of shots heard in the 300 block of Mark Street. A vehicle, with similar description, was associated with the shooting and hit a parked car before fleeing the scene, police said. Police also found multiple bullet shell casings.

No injuries were reported in the earlier shooting.

Since our President doesn't have to worry about being re-elected, shouldn't he be speaking to his "people" about this ridiculous mess? A very small segment of the population is responsible for about 60% of the crime. This is not acceptable, and nobody says a word. Not one word. Instead we hear about Obama phones and skyrocketing #'s of people on food stamps. Chicago is a mess, Oakland is a cesspool, Compton is unlivable and we are heading that direction here in Vallejo. And not one word from ANY black "leader".

I would say it is larger than a very small segment, more like 50-60% of the Vallejo population in general. All of Vallejo is a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode. The recent rapist incident at Gateway Plaza just illustrates there is no running away nor escape from the ghetto war zone. People wonder why there is no development for retail or new businesses in Vallejo? This is the reason.

cowardly ignorant people blindly shoot into the homes of people they do not know. And injure people who have nothing to do with their irresponsible lives. Not one officer came to take a statement from the 51 year old victim just getting out of her shower, shot 3 times in front of her crying grand babies as long as their are people black, white, mexican, latino whatever who hold no value on human life this will be an epidemic, of these senseless acts of violence.
