But meddling is what GWB does best! If GWB wanted to bring down Castro, the best thing would be to open trade and travel both ways... to welcome Cubans here, and encourage Americans to visit there.

I think that all the Cubans are prepared for to build there future, a future of freedom justice. The US government don't know what is democracy and they have the nerve to accuse to the most democratic people in the world.

My experience with friends in Cuba is that they do know how to take care of themselves and don't need our government to tell them how to do anything. I agree that if the USA just went into Cuba, beyond the strife, killing and infrastructure destruction, the result would just be bothels and casinos.

Ukiah gal: How true to history and reality! Many of my Cuban friends in Cuba are praying for change and also praying that the Cuba they knew under Batista is also not going to return. If you can read between the lines of la Barbara and others of like mind, with their level of ethics, it will, once again be free, for U.S. coporate rape of its natural resources and the casinos and brothels.

The True: Hold on to your hopes and dreams for your Cuba. Stay in Cuba! Work for the kind of changes you wish to see. There are more and more U.S. citizens becoming aware of Cuba and are speaking out for a sovreign, free Cuba - a Cuba not dominated by greedy, corporate U.S. powers, or corrupt Miami and South Florida politicians. I agree with you - please do not adopt the current U.S. paradigm of "democracy". It is a farce. I great admiration for Frank Pais, a great Cuban and a most intelligent young man who was murdered by Batista police at the tender age of 23. He was the son of a Baptist pastor and one who died to see a new Cuba! Viva Frank Pais

Work for the kind of changes you wish to see! George, stop fooling these people including yourself!!
What's right for you may not be right for others! "It's called having a choice"...It's your opinion and that is all! living in the past does nothing for the future of my beautiful paradise.

Cuban Rick: I concur (agree) with you. What is best for me may not be what others want. I never wish to thwart the dreams or hopes of anyone, especially my dear friends in Cuba. And, yes, it is only my opinion! That is what this dialogue is supposed to be about - not calling people names. Can you muzzle la Barbara at least briefly. I am not a communist, have never been, will never be! There is no "paradise" on the planet earth. My hopes are to see a free and soverign Cuba - a Cuban designed and run by Cubans not corporate America!

Don"t worry. The Cubans won't allow that that pass because so many years of fight they won't be forgotten so easily. Cuba is free and will be free for ever and ever

TheTrue...what fight? Cubans don't eat enough to have energy for fighting... please I told you to save your rethoric speeches for La Plaza.
Curious George..now you're really getting me upset. La Barbara's "muzzle" as you call it is the only refreshing thing around here. Funny, for someone who believes so much in dissenting opinions you don't seem to like those that don't approve of your "professor-like" speeches.
You seem to be one of those bleeding hearts that are always complaining about how bad the "US" is but you came back here.
P.S. Been to Vegas lately? fyi...there's casinos here also, even Indian ones...heard about those ones?

The True: You know of my support of a soverign Cuba that is not controlled by U.S. and its greedy corporate powers - so please do not misinterpret my question to you. I have been to Cuba often and have many friends who are university graduates and a few have computors. Why, out of 11 million people, are you the only one on this site from Cuba? Why aren't friends of yours also entering this dialogue. Several of my former students at a Cuban university have computors but cannot access this site as you do! Why?

I don't think the USA has any intention what so ever about going into Cuba nor will they have to.They're calling on the Cuban people to do it themselves, which they will !

It's obviuos that you're content with the current lifestyle and Goverment in Cuba! no mistake there! You probably were not around when Castro took over. So this is the only life you know. I have seen footage of kids in school being told that the US is the evil one. Why and how can you teach hatred to kids. Do you know why this is done! Fidel wants this done! When you're very young like they are it leaves an impresion in their minds(good or bad). So of course in your mind why fix something that's not broken, right?

In Cuba we all can take out our own concluciones, and although it is the only life that lived (and that I want to live) if I have been able to see the problems that has our world nowadays. Not wanted to live in a system where the children take weapons to the schools, where a small group is owner of most of the things, where the deempleo indexes are alarming and the drug and the corruption are common among the youths. Not in this country that doesn't exist and it won't exist.
