I "heard" the following today:

Water was 2 feet into the liquor store at the corner of 12th and Bayshore.

Old Henry's (or whatever it is now) was wrecked

The water was coming from down from the Spillway

You can not get into San Leon there is flooding over all roads in

A possible Boat on Bayshore

All of this is hearsay. I did not actually speak to anyone still there. My mom did leave and had not heard anything other than what I did. Yesterday I was told there was a foot of water in her house... I just don't know and of course the video of the area sucks. Good luck to all..

I spoke to a friend of mine who lives in Bacliff, on the bay side. They were hit hard there and he said they lost 1/4 of their homes. I saw a short clip of Bacliff and saw that the bulk-head was really corroded bad. I was told San Leon is in bad shape but haven't seen any pictures yet. I used to live off 24th & Dick Bay, which sits right on the water so I don't have high hopes for the area. I do know there are rescues going on so you might want to call the Red Cross and see if they can locate loved ones. I can only pray for the best. I have many friends there.

The Following was copied from a website called Weather Underground. The attached pictures are pretty awful. It looks like a shot from Amanda's ( I can't remember what the new name is...and it looks like a river all the way down Bayshore)

Images taken this afternoon just before 12:00. Roads mainly impassable due to high water and massive amounts of storm debris. Worst damage ever seen from Grand Avenue and Bayshore Dr. all the way to San Leon. Unable to enter San Leon due to extremely high water both on FM 517 and Bayshore Drive. Homes along the Galveston Bay side of Bayshore Drive look to have suffered extensive damage due to high water levels at high tide.It looks as though ALL PIERS along this section of the Bay have been destroyed as indicated by the massive amounts of debris.

I will try to get down there. My parents live on 7th street. There is a lot of damage down there. If you don't live there they are not letting you in. You have to show your ID to prove you live there. If not you can't get in. Curfew is in effect and the sheriffs are patrolling. If I get any info I will let you know. I am going to try and help if I can. I will be there tomorrow helping clean up.
