BTW...To all the anti-pittbull comments, gee, I wonder what you all would do if we generalized races/people the way you generalize animals/breeds. We would have a world full of white labs, poodles and bichon frises right?

I have actually, calmly restrained a breeding pair of pit bulls at the softball field on Florida Street while Animal Control was called by a police officer in his patrol car parked at the park. It was not hard to calmly restrain the two pitts while holding my two dogs because I remained calm. The police officer kept his distance in his care out of fear or distain. Who knows.
If my dogs ever escaped and showed signs of fear, I am upset to know that the first instinct of the Vallejo Police is to shoot to kill and ask questions later. This dog murder could have been avoided had the officer called for Animal Control as back up. The local police need better training to deal with the many dogs that are escape artists. This is another black mark on the already tainted Vallejo Police and makes me not like this city even more.
People, please remember that dogs react to human's excitement. If you remain calm and not turn into a screaming nelly, then the dog will most likely not bother you.

He had one warning already and continued to fail. Its not the breed its the people....Rottweiler, Doberman's, Pitt Bulls....all large breed dogs need to be handled by well educated, confident and responsible owners who are aware that these dogs are strong and need extra guidance.

Hey Ms. Bradley - the DEPUTY SHERIFF ho shot the dog does not work for the Vallejo Police Department, he works for the Solano County SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT.
Furthermore, thank you for walking your dogs on leash, as you should. When you see other dogs roaming off leash, call Animal Control.

No, I am not. Ricky Meyi was a friend of Andrew Jacla and was murdered 1 year and 5 months before by those low life maggots. Same Gang. They all know each other.

So what you're saying is no matter how many times the dog roams the street at large, and no matter how many times the the dogs owners have been warned by the authorities, and after the dog attempted to attack another person, a woman fights off the dog with an umbrella and then approaches a law enforcement official in a threatening manner, you believe the cop should have given the nice little doggy a biscuit. That's ridiculous and absurd. Your frontal lobe may be a little out of whack, Chrissy. Btw, are you and Shay still advocating for the early release of methamphetamine dealers, or is that just Shay?

So true. Pitt Bulls are amazing dogs. It's so sad that Goone lost his life in such a horrible manner. It's the "parent" or owner of Goone that is ultimately responsible for his or her death. I'm certain that Goones parents are not Budhist. RIP Goone.

Here's a story for you dog lovers!
My neighbor keeps her Pitbull in an 6' by 3' animal kennel or doggie jail. He is there locked up like a prisoner and is hardly ever taken out! The dog groans and moans all the time! Its unbelieveable that the owner thinks its ok to keep the Pit locked up for the last 3 years this way. The crazy thing is she is a Vallejo Teacher! Anywho I'm an animal lover and wish people wouldn't treat there dogs like this. Barrrrrrrrrrrrrr in east Vghetto!!!!

So Goones "parents" stood back and watched as his body was hauled away like a load of trash? That's disgusting if that's what happened. According to my information, Goones "parents" allowed him to be killed in the street. If Goones "parents" really cared, they would have, at the very least, buried or scattered his cremated ashes themselves. RIP Goone.

Mayor Osby Davis has not said anything to the Times-Herald regarding this?

I'm still waiting for our Mayor to issue a statement to the Times-Herald regarding this incident. If Mayor Davis is cozy with the Times-Herald, or ABC7, or not, our Mayor could at least issue a statement. Mayor Davis, in his silence, acknowledges and supports criminal activity? According to my information, Mayor Davis has a voice. Speak up Mayor Davis!!
