Newport Coast toll rate could increase

Board of directors for 73 toll road propose to boost fee at Newport Coast Drive ramp more than others, according to city officials.

I'm already spending more than $300/month, that is almost $4000 per year. Why boost my rate more than others. I'm already being heavily burdened. If you raise the prices, it should be equal everywhere, not just us at Newport Coast.

I was always under the impression that tolls were to go down, not up as they gathered more funds, i.e., the Vincent Thomas bridge which no longer charges a toll to pass over. Am I wrong?
