We need jobs. We need to protect our water. The first thing we should do is put folks to work by sealing, suppressing and covering the California Aqueduct and the major feeders off of it. This will save more water in evaporation and leaks than the current peripheral canal proposal will provide. If we want to utilize this large area for additional good, we should cover it with solar panels and create a long skinny power plant that will offset the pumps used to move the water over levels.
