Two weeks worth of dog crap! Boy your whole home must stink. I pity the neighbors. Nothing in that can but recyclables. Ain't that what they are usually looking for?

Grandma, put on your bifocals, I had written " a weeks worth". Meaning 1 weeks worth. My house is smelling like roses, and my neighbors are happy to have a neighbor us. Thank you for your concern.
My point on the recyclables was that I would rather see a person/persons/family turn in the recylces to feed their family than give it to the city. If it goes to put food in their childrens stomaches, than I'm good with that. Times are hard. I would rather see this than someone turn to crime to feed their family.
That's all I was getting at :).

Try This: You back yard may have roses but they probably smell like poop covered roses and urine grass. I hope you get foot fugus from all of the poop and urine your two dogs leave behind.

Does it really matter what state or city I am in? I keep a watch on these kinds of trends in the US regardless of what state or city it is in.

One more thing I might mention. What happens in your backyard today may very well end up in my backyard tomorrow and vise versa. Here's a very good example, Arizona's controversial SB1070 against illegal immigration was watched by the various states of the US. Some didn't like it while others considered their own version of it. The main point I am trying to make here is this, if the various states and even cities are watching what one another are doing, then it would be wise of the citizens to do the same.

Get a paper shredder. Rescue a new pet. Gerbals can really chew up receipts well. Paper train a new puppy. Parrot? Goats are great, some give milk!:D

Look the fact is not all pickets are drug addicts...but not all are feeding their families either. If you are having your recyclables picked in a town that makes you PAY to recycle then you by every means kick out the looters, they are stealing your money. Also if your cans are on your driveway or property the looters are trespassing by default. Lastly I'd like to talk about our neighbors who run a company where they collect junk and resell it. They are not drug addicts and not poor. They try to go through our trash, when it is siting on our lawn no less, to resell. We do NOT allow their selfish behavior, to say the least.
It is YOUR decision how you handle looters, but do it legally. Get a hammer and break your trash, then put the nasty stuff like poo and tampons on top. Spray them with a hose, etc. make sure to shred any papers. Take a few good pees in the bag before it goes out.
To the people who are fine with looters: good on you! That is your decision. But some us don't like being stolen from or having our stuff gone through. Some things are thrown out for a reason!
