I worked in a dental office near St. Mary's where this doctor MacDonald practiced. A nursing assistant from St. Mary's came in to have her teeth cleaned. She had a lab coat on. Guess who's lab coat it was? The name on the pocket was embroidered with Jeffrey MacDonald. Could have auctioned that on eBay for big bucks today.... LOL

The "Acid is groovy, kill the pigs!" line didn't seem credible in the 70's and doesn't seem credible now.

Wow, his daughters would be well into their 40s by now if they hadn't been killed by those drug-crazed hippies who somehow managed to sneak onto a gigantic military base.

So let's see, a group of drug crazed hippies gets onto a military base, makes ridiculous statements which certainly weren't typical at the time, then somehow escapes without being caught, leaving the military post, all without leaving a trace of evidence other than a stray hair under a child's fingernail, which actually could have come from anyplace or anyone. I hope that MacDonald has become accustomed to his living situation, because I can't imagine that it's going to change. With our crazy prison system, I suppose he's getting conjugal visits with his new wife?

it is astounding to me that anyone actually thinks this guy is innocent. each member of the family had a different blood type( astounding in itself). following the blood trail in the house, investigators knew the story macdonald was telling couldn't possibly be true. any investigator who was familiar with crime scences came to the same conclusion: macdonald was the only one who could have done it. may he rot in HELL.

Tex Watson and a couple of Charlie Manson's girls got paroled. How come MacDonald didn't get a chance at parole?

Wondering: Are you sure about Tex Watson and a couple of the Manson girls being paroled? I don't believe so. Not even Susan Atkins, who was totaly disabled and dying of brain cancer was granted parole. I'm positive that none of the others have been. Sharon Tate's sister has been very faithful in attending parole hearings and has successfully argued against the release of any of them.

Thanks. My mistake. It is one of the lesser-known Manson members, Bruce Davis.

Davis, a member of the Manson “family” has been recommended for parole after spending almost four decades behind bars. Bruce Davis, 67, was convicted of two murders in the early 70s, and has been in prison since 1972. Now a two-member panel of the Board of Parole Hearings will recommend that he be set free, and the decision will go to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s desk.

Also, Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme was paroled. The Manson family member that attempted the assassination against President Gerald Ford.

Such a shame, People should go back to the oldest Look Magazine that covered the story. Not the Book and Movie published years later. It was turned to make people watch and buy the book. People have been condeming Dr. MacDonald on the whole story of Fatal Vision.
What is wrong with this world. It was a movie for Gods Sake !

Mrs. Kravitz: You must understand that the book, Fatal Vision, was incredibly well-researched. The author set out to write a book in support of MacDonald, vindicating him. Ultimately, in extensive research and interviews for the book, the evidence and information was overwhelmingly negative for MacDonald. Have you, by any chance, read that book?

Unfortunately, no. They were quite conscious and experienced pain and terror. With his wife, there was an extended, brutal, life and death struggle. The state's theory was that the oldest girl wandered into their bedroom during the fight and MacDonald accidentally clubbed her in the head resulting in massive head injuries. He later carried her to her bed and finished her off there. At one point Colette managed to get to the youngest girl's room in an attempt to protect her. Her blood was found on the walls near the toddler's bed and on her bedding. The little girl must have been awaken by the carnage and cowering in her bed. Then daddy came for her. They found defensive wounds on her little fingers. On his lap he flipped her over and stabbed her multiple times in the chest. I just don't want MacDonald's supporters (I know you're not one of them) to never forget the brutality of what MacDonald did to his family.

MacDonald is 100% GUILTY. MacDonald once said that when they sourced the hair found clutched in Colette's hand, they would have the murderer. That hair was sourced to MacDonald himself.

Here is a website that shows the actual true facts of this case. It has pictures, scanned documents and actual transcripts.

http://www.thejeffreymacdonaldcase.com/

Nope he does not get conjugal visits with his new wife. He is not even allowed computer access.

The important thing to remember is that there was no evidence of intruders in the house the night of the murders. MacDonald claimed to have given mouth-to-mouth to all 3 victims and yet that was a great big lie. I don’t think that anybody needs to worry that an innocent man is in jail for something he did not do.

When The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals looks at the evidence as a whole they will rule against his appeal. The Jimmy Britt affidavit is an absolute joke. He claims to have transported Helena from Greenville, SC and that is a lie. He says he did not come forth sooner with his information out of respect for Judge Franklin Dupree. Judge Dupree had been deceased for 10 years when he decided to come forth with his false affidavit. He does not remember who or who was not in the room when Blackburn supposedly threatened Helena.

Fatal Vision is an excellent work! One of the best if not the best True Crime book ever written. Joe McGuiness not only independently researched and interviewed people for the book, he also lived with the defense team on Campus (NCSU I believe it was) in a frat house that was rented by them for the duration of the trial. Joe M had access to everything and everyone, was present for every meeting, and attended the trial daily too.

It is true that initially he was contacted by inmate to write the book from the perspective of inmate being innocent - however - Joe M's agreement was that he'd write the truth as he saw it. That truth was that inmate had brutally slaughtered his pregnant wife and two little girls.

In all the years since it was published no one has been able to find a substantive error in Fatal Vision.

I think The Acid is groovy, kill the pigs line was a calculated attempt by McDonald to give investigators something to hang thier hats on and let one of thier own walk free. It didn,t work for him but given what we know the military did relax thier initial investigation. It seems only McDonalds arrogance later on that got the investigation reopened. This based only on my feelings on what went on and in no way do I know what really happened. I always like to remember it is how the media presents a story that forms public opinion and we just hope the media wasn,t manipulated in this case. The Family (Charlie Manson) used Acid is groovey kill the pigs talk in 1969.“You play the game of money. As long as you can sell a newspaper, some sensationalism, and you can laugh at someone and joke at someone and look down at someone, you know. You just sell those newspapers for public opinion, just like you are all hung on public opinion, and none of you have any idea what you are doing. You are just doing what you are doing for the money, for a little bit of attention from someone.”

Statement made by Charles Manson, while testifying at the Tate-LaBianca murder trial

§

“This will be remembered as the first of the acid murders ... we’re on the brink of a whole new concept of violence ... perpetrated against society by people who have reached a different plateau of reality through LSD.”

Statement made by Manson family attorney Paul Fitzgerald, while discussing the Tate-LaBianca murders with the press

§

“Acid is groovy, kill the pigs.”

Words allegedly chanted by hippie thrill killers during the 1970 bludgeoning and stabbing murders of the Jeffrey MacDonald family

Sunshine, 10:00

"MID-MORNING ON SATURDAY, Berkeley people laid what looked like a thousand tabs of sunshine acid on the Angels-- sunshine: it had a lot of speed in it--and this was being dispersed both at the Angels' bus thirty yards uphill and on the stage. At one point, 500 reds were scattered on the front portion of the stage. The Angels were downing tabs of acid/speed and reds in huge gulps of Red Mountain wine. The more they took, the more fighting there was."

Rolling Stone, p. 28.
