A word to the wise, when you get a flat tire, pull off the freeway to a parking lot and change your tire there. Too many people get killed for trying to change their tire on the freeway.

No they didn't. A car jumped into the shoulder. Did you actually READ the story?

I take it back. I misunderstood you. But still, accidents DO happen.

If you've ever changed your driver side tire on a freeway you know how things like this can happen. So many times people just lose their concentration and start fading onto the shoulder.

Some people if they have nice tires/rims they wouldn't want to limp off the freeway and ruin them. We have AAA and they told me they train the drivers about the 3 second rule, work for 3 secs then look at oncoming traffic, don't know how this would help if a car is hurtleing at you at 70+ mph.
Condolences to the family

I was on the freeway and passed by after the accident. It was real obvious someone died at the scene. Very sad.

I realize accidents do happen, but two people were killed...some sort of manslaughter charges are in order. People need to be held accountable for the actions.

Automobile Club of Southern California charges about $47.00 a year for standard membership. Just give them a call and they will come to your rescue when you get a flat on any freeway. It's part of the service they provide. It's not worth putting your life in jeopardy over a flat tire on a busy highway. I lost a co-worker a few years ago to this same sort of stupidity on the 405.

You're absolutely right...but some bleeding heart liberals in this community will argue with you that it was just an accident and the killer should not be charged with anything, be forgiven and given free grief counseling.

That's not what the libeals would say, that's what the cops do. Thousand of people are killed every year and the cops simply call them accidents. Someone has to be drunk for it to be a crime to kill.

NOOOO.....the cops take the case to the DA for filing after their investigation reveals the Primary Collision Factor and who was at fault, etc....the liberal DA's refuse to file charges, because of guidance from their liberal bosses, who in turn are governed by their liberal politicians, who in place are voted in by...you guessed it, the liberals again! Truly not arguing with ya, just telling the history of facts..

Wether you have AAA or not the bottom line is you should not change your tire while on the freeway it's too dangerous. There's too many idiots not paying attention and loocking off just to see someone change a tire and lose their focus on the road. It's better not to get off your car while on the freeway, either wait for AAA or ruin your rim and drive off the freeway. It's better to ruin a rim then to ruin your life.
