check it out people, how can you say that about someone you didnt know? Oscar was a caring respectful loving man, the only animal was the one coward that took him away from us that loved him as a friend, but mostly from a family that loved him as a son, brother and uncle. So unless you know the pain of what his family is going through or how the other ones felt that were with him that night I suggest you keep you idiotic opinions to yourself. As for everyone who knew him, its dumb opions like yours that make things worse. But "people" like you really don't matter...what matters are those that his family and friends.

Ive known Oscar for about 15 years. He was not a cholo or even the type that acted like a cholo or tried to act "hard". He was a very chill guy. Its very ignorant for people to make rude comments about a person who has died and they do not know. It really only makes you look foolish. As far as the state of La Puente goes, Ive lived all over the Eastside of San Gabriel Valley my whole life. I currently live in La Puente as well as Ive spent alot of my childhood here. I hate the fact that my children even have to go to school here. This city seems to breed cholos. Cholos "marrying" cholas and have little shaved head kids that are violent from day one. When I pick up my children I can already spot the killers of tomorrow. This is not good. The community must fight this and the schools need to be more involved. Unfortunately Oscar was gunned down just when he got his life back together. Oscar has worked for me several times over the past year and was always ready to help with anything. He called me several times the night he was killed just to see what I was doing? Its sad that his life is now gone because a punk kid thought firing off his .22 would make him cool and impress the girls in the car. The problem is Oscar was such a nice guy he was friends with everyone, including gang members. At some point the culprit is gonna end up dead. And we have another death. Another mother that has to bury her son. The sad part is that Oscars brother in law was killed this same was 6 years before. Its tragedy. Even though Oscar was my good friend I hope killer is not killed in retaliation. It would be much better for him to suffer in prison. To all the sheriffs that read this, use what leverage you have to get the killer arrested. You know who he is and there is more than enough evidence. Let the community know you are doing your job and arrest him.

we shouldnt have to move they should do a sweep or something to get some of these gang members offf our street i was born and raised here i shouldnt have to move this is my home and the ones out here doing the killings are kids themselfs or early 20's but i this as something that needs to be addressed because the war over here is only getting worse and now my kids are teens and im scared to let them leave the house for fear that some valinda float is gonna hurt them or some puente punk so what can be done to feel safer in my home town
This crap has to stop. The U.S, government should put a stop to this crap. The rich get richer they don't care. But if gang scum decide to chill in Beverly Hills they would be stopped in about 9 minutes. The problem is the rich don't care. The rich run the country.Police do care but there isn't enough of them.First get rid of these damn guns.Gun enforcement is just nada.Be allowed to search parolees and their cars and houses anytime.Take those damn guns. What is the A.T.F. doing? I believe parolee search laws are already on the books but no one does anything.Take the guns away ,make being in a criminal street - gang a first-strike felony and 3 strikes and you're out. Also have job-placement for the parolees who want to turn things around. The ones who can get along with people without starting problems. The rich can build plenty of prisons and staff them. They have loads of money. They just don't care.We have to make them care and the gangs who won't straighten up will be out of society for good. There's a lot of work to be done.Let's do it.

The gangbangers will get pay back.It doesn't have to be from another gangbanger.Karma comes back to all who cause wrong.Look at Bruce Pardo.O.J. Simpson,it will all come back to you gangsters. You'll realize this when you have to live the rest of your life in a cage.

Why isnt there any criminal roundups in La Puente as there are in other criminal neighborhoods?
You know, the 4 a.m. ones.
Seems this town is way too dangerous to live in.

I Dont Personially Know Oscar. But I Have Seen Him Around He Didnt Look Like A Gang Memeber. What I Dont Understand Is why Doesnt The Cops DO Anything About The Murder... They Know Who Did. They Know IT Was Evil From VF. So Why Arent They Going To His House And ARresting hIm. Or Not Even That. Why Dont They Bring In HIs Father Or Uncle That Is In The Department And Question HIm About His Nephew Or Son? IT Doesnt Make It right For Someone To Kill Anybody And Let Them Get Away with It..

I knew Reyes family quite well... A loud bunch that stuck together. I also knew Locs, the so called brother in law of Oscar who was gunned down in a similar fashion. My heart goes out to the family and lil' Locs. A boy that has lost two family members to violence. Lil' Locs father's killer was never caught, I hope for the sake of the Reyes, they do not have to relive this all over again. Justice needs to prevail. LAPD failed this boy by not finding the person who murdered his father. Will LASD fail Lil' Locs and the Reyes family by not bringing Oscar's killer to justice.

To the Reyes, my heart goes out to the twins, juice and the other members. Stand strong and don't forget your bond with your family... this will help you guys get through this awful time. Much love... and a big hug for Lil' Locs.

Detectives are working hard in this case. You have to remember that the detectives have to present this case to the district attorney's office and eventually to a jury of Oscar's peers. Homicide investigations do not work like Hollywood movies in which the crime, investigations, and trial is solved in an hour. Justice will be served and it will be because of the brave witnesses in the community and the thorough work of the Sheriff's Department. Your patience is needed and it will be rewarded with a conviction of Oscar's killer.

Industry Deputy... As a person who grew up in La Puente and has witnessed many evils in this San Gabriel town, I for one truly do hope that the hand of justice prevails once and for all. This family, the Reyes, have been victims twice to such violence. As it appears, people are speaking out and giving you the monikers of the shooter and the vehicle owner. I understand the process of due order and the lag time that benefits the suspects. Industry Sheriffs should be watching these two individuals very closely. Im sure they are thinking of hiding out to evade capture once the D.A. issues warrants for their arrests. This family deserves justice. If not by the hands of the law then by street justice, which wont do anyone any good.
