Do not forget that after Jeffers left, Venti and the Monterey Park city council got rid of the next city manager within a few months and had to fork out additional thousands to pay her because she was under contract!

The city manager was fired because she didn't go along with the council and Venti's corrupt programs and she put them on blast. She was more than qualified for the position. Obviously too qualified for Monterey Park.

Good for him

He deserve it. J. Gomez is a great guy and I trust his decisions. They are lucky to have Bodabilla. They should get rid of those deputy city managers though. What a waste.

More Bell Republicanism. Treason against tax payers.

Time to drag some of these crooks out of their offices and give them fair trials in the streets.

The Mayor sounds like the only one with common sense and has a brain.
Typical Republicans AND Dems - overspend the budget so they can justify taxing more!

There's got to be more to this than what is being said... If he ain't going anywhere, why not just let the contract stand as it is?

Knowing the CON-cil, "other" compensation was probably added to the contract and they are using severance as a smoke screen to make changes.

As a resident, you should ask for full disclosure, its your money!

Here is the best part: the "minutes" for this meeting, will NOT BE AVAILABLE IN PRINTED, OR ON-LINE FORM FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS AT A MINIMUM, THANKS TO THE INEFFICIENCY OF THE INCOMPETENT CITY CLERK! Any city that allows over two months to get public meeting minutes published has either an inept city clerk, or IS COVERING A WHOLE BUNCH OF STUFF UP!
No on CC

What a bunch of bull. There is no need to give this guy a year of severance. If they insist on this, they should protect themselves and outline the situations in which he will and won't be paid. For instance, if they fire him then he shouldn't get the money.
