"They have no business getting those kinds of checks as a city employee, but the people you want to complain to are all in on it," Venti said.

"Council members said they didn't know about the benefits because the contracts were difficult to understand and interpreted by Jeffers and the city attorney."

Another instance where Venti pleads ignorance. And isn't he one of the people one would complain to?

I'll bet Moy and this guy probably tell school kids that it's wrong to illegally copy cd's and dvd's. With all of the illegal copying going on, it's no wonder DVD sales have fallen off a cliff. With civic leaders like these guys, I doubt if anybody thinks it's wrong to cheat the movie studios. lol

Oh Ken, tisk tisk. You and your cronies are in for a surprise. I hope the tribune keeps this up and keeps putting your secrets out for us citizens to read. Glendora won't stand for this. Remember your charade during the temporary appointing of the vacated city council seat? What a joke. You guys and gal are thick as thieves. Won't let any honest blood in on your scam. It's only a matter of time until ABC7 is attending our city council meetings and exposing you all. It'll be sweet to watch.

I would love to watch the City of Glendora investigated! We have rats that need to be taken care of. The only thing that the city does is put up Christmas lights in October-waste money and time. They do nothing about the crime or fixing streets. The amount of money they make-we could have our streets paved and areas cleaned up. Your city council meetings are a joke! If you have something to say the city tells you they are not interested. Jeffers and others collected allthis time? Did they work the holidays and not use the holiday pay to be off. I am sure they did not! They don't even work when they are supposed to!

Too many like these are in charge of cities and they hire their friends or the wives of their friends or the friends of their friends.....then they retire along with the friends they hired, while the taxpayer foots the bill. They give themselves raises or bonuses or some other kind of "benefit". Why do the city councils in these cities allow this? Well, that would be interesting to find out, probably, they have found a benefit in going along with these criminals. Maybe, they get a promise to be elected mayor, or help in getting on some board. Who know? When the citizens get tired of being robbed, maybe then someone with a spine and character will stand up to them and say "No More". They did it in Bell, why not Glendora, Covina, or Azusa?

This was already tried. We said "no more" a few years ago, but the friends of friends campaigned to discredit those elected, and did a good job. Once again, the city is being run by people who are not transparent. What is happening in the city of Glendora? I haven't a clue......

I think it should be demanded that every penny of taxpayer money be accounted for on that city's website in detail. A person should not have to go down to City Hall and research these things, it should be right there on the internet and easy to find for anyone that wants to know. This goes for all cities. How's that for transparency?

Since when cashing out my unused time-off after a job becomes a crime? As a CM, newspapers will be all over me if I take one day off every five working days. I work hard and I deserve to get my pay. It's not even an issue on ethics.

Have we gone mad? A day off for every 5 days worked? I'm tired of paying these salaries and pensions with my taxes and water bill increases. Enough is enough. City council better have read the fine print in these hiring contracts.

Oh yeah 3 more things. Sick pay, use or lose it. Accrued vacations or time off, paid at the rate (time) when it was earned. Vacation pay, use it or lose it.

This just shows that "crooks of a feather do stick together" if you notice, Glendora Mayor Ken Herman is justifying Chris Jeffers actions, in reality their is and are more cover ups that have taken place in Glendora, California 91741 than the "crooks' want up covered!

Polygraphs could wring out the lies from the facts, or is that liars. How about that one Douglas Tessitor?

Jeffers is one of two previous Monterey Park officials who collected several hundred thousand dollars in accrued sick time, vacation, leave and holiday pay.

I think this it's a competitive arrangement, Glendora Mayor Ken Herman said. "This is what other cities are giving their own city managers.

There was nothing illegally done here," Herman said.

When Jeffers cashed out his time in Monterey Park he was paid $285,000 in vacation days,$84,000 in administrative leave,$63,600 in sick time and $51,000 worth of holidays, according to city documents.

City officials can make a "hundred million dollars" a year without committing a crime.

Crooks List:

Ken Herman
Gary Clifford
Mark Kelly
Karen Davis
Terry Kent
Gene Murabito
Chris Jeffers
Jeff Krugal
Brenda Fischer
Douglas Tessitor

And 50 as of yet unnamed suspects.

There is no story here. The principal was paid what he was contracted for. That's how it works in a capitalist society. The DA's office agrees. Venti is an idiot.

Yellow journalists - quit trying to make an issue out of nothing. If there is truly criminal activity in government, expose that. But don't waste the ink of non-issues.

Somebody's making a mountain out of a molehill here. It's common practice when a person leaves a job that he or she is paid for unused sick leave and/or unused vacation time. Personally, if he really didn't take sick leave or vacation time and worked on holidays, I applaud his dedication rather than condemn him.

Newspaper writers from the Los Angeles Times and SGVTribune have written articles concerning the negative inner workings of Glendora, California 91741 local city government this past year.

In the past Glendora's political machine has been able to keep a lid on such articles, a writer for the SGVTribune Maryann Love wrote such an article and she was FIRED, at the request of Glendora's policitical machine.

But now Daniel Tedford and Thomas Himes have written about six seperate articles questioning the so called truth as told by Glendora city hall and it's City Council memebers.

There have been questions raised many times by residents of Glendora as to the legality or honesty of any and all actions taken by City Council members and staff, those questions were either covered up or lies where used to do just that, in worst cases the threat of lawsuits against those posing questions were used as a threat to make them shut up.

My advice to anyone who has information pertainning to any illegal actions taken by Glendora's City Council members or Staff to be prepared to expose those wrong doers, inorder to save their own hides.

First ones to come forward will be given legal protection to save their families and their own good name!

I would say this above statement is a bold lie and I also say that Herman's statement "This is what other cities are doing, nothing is illegal here" is reckless management of public funds. Just because "everyone else is getting away with it" is not fair game to loot the banks account. The mayor and past council member of Glendora says "I don't know how much Jeffers is paid". Well, why not? Are you part of the scheme?

More of this needs printed in all the news papers and financial magazines, all cities are guilty of imbezzelment and should they get caught, do time and pay fines. Anyone who was part of this benefit making should be hung on the front lawn of city hall.

They pay off unused time in the private sector too. Nothing new here. This has been going on for years, probably even in the 1800's in the private sector, with investors money which the investors gets nothing from.
