Very sad story and sad for the parents...but ultimately it is their fault for allowing this to happen, not the Staples Center nor the Lakers! I bet some attorney will try and file suit, watch!

ive been in one of the suites for a concert and even i was scared to stand right in front of the glass. i think it reached a little above my pelvis. if he was left unattended for a split second he defenitly climbed over and fallen. i know i stayed away and sat in the row behind the glass partition. they should def make them higher if an adult can tumble over them.

I'm guessing you are not a parent. Every parent knows accidents can happen. All it takes is literally a split second and an accident can occur.

Exactly. Did anyone test the BAC of the parents? Probably not.

Staples Center must be on this country illegally. An American building wouldn't kill a baby.

I am sorry, but I just can't get the picture out of my head of an Asian toddler with a 3 pound camera around his neck. It probably had a big zoom lens.

When I use our suite I always wonder how bad off a drunk person would be if they went over the glass barrier. I never imagined a toddler. Sure, the barrier seems a little low, but these suites are up to code and designed with safety in mind. Now the Captain Hindsights of the community will come up with their "what ifs", "should haves" and "I would've".. The parents or guardians paid the ultimate price for their actions. What a horrible tragedy for this family. Just absolutely horrible. I really hope the little fella didn't suffer too much before he expired.

You must not be a parent I'm guessing! Just takes an instant for these things to happen. If you're a parent you would know that!
Not trying to cap on you but blaming the parents at this point seems a little harsh!

This is so sad. There is, unfortunately, a cultural issue with this. Most Asian children are allowed to climb and explore, at will, while a large number of their parents go about their business paying little or no attention at all. I know, because I've rescued a number of them that were dangling from the shelves at my grocery store. My prayers go to the innocent life lost.

Agreed. The glass partions at the Staples Center are much too low. I once sat on the front row in the upper level & i was scared to walk to & from my seat because the partition was so low. One misstep of nudge by someone and you will go over very easily. I remember thinking that one day someone would fall over. It's a shame it had to be an innocent toddler.

Sorry to hear about this, but I bet the kid was climbing the rail and fell. Where were the parents at all of this? Maybe too drunk to remember the kid until he fell.

Yes I am THE TRUTH.....all my kids are now grown adults...you gotta keep and eye on those kids and anticipate!! If they allowed that child or saw that child nearing a dangerous area, they should have intervened...it's a sad tragedy to loose your children before you!
