Poor baby!! The mother and aunt should have been watching her better. What a senseless tragedy.

My heart and condolences go out to the family. A tragedy is the exact word for this. Her not having a license has nothing to do with it. Ethnicity is not an issue either. It could have happened to anyone. So if she had a license it would be ok?

Her not having a licence has nothing to do with not seeing a crawling baby under the car. However, shouldn't there be reprecussions for driving without a license?

When you follow the rules everyone is safe.If she is here illegally she has broke more than one law.

Where is her aunt heading to? I assume that she is heading to a public street because what else can she do with a car on the driveway?

Another bofo, the driver being unlicensed has a lot to do with this tragedy, as it would not have occurred if she was following the law.

She had no license. She should not have been in the drivers seat. The life would have been preserved if the fool didn't get inside the car.

My prayers go to the family at this time. I feel for the anguish this tragedy has created for the whole family. It was not done on purpose...it was an unfortunate and tragic ACCIDENT that could have, and has happened to many people, and they weren't all BROWN! Racist comments are ignorant and not needed here, and TOPIX should eliminate them! I will hold this family up in prayer. I will also hold the people up in prayer who feel compelled to show their ignorance in such a hateful manner.

""The victim's aunt,(a) 28-year-old unlicensed driver, was backing northbound out of the driveway..."

AND

"At this point, it does not appear as though any crimes were committed," Alva said..."

Really? Unlicensed driver, a dead child, and no crime?

My prayers go out to the family., in another note I have seen that many people that "do not" have any driving experience or can not read the signs tend to cause more accidents. This person should not be on the streets with out a driver license. There is no excuse for this type of senseless accident.

The mother should be charged with NEGLECT ! Something doesn`t make sense . If the mother KNEW the aunt was going to drive away, she should have been holding that child till the car was gone. What a MOTHER ! And how long has this "aunt" been driving without a LICENSE ?Comes to show us this "accident" happened for a reason. This aunt could have caused a MAJOR accident at some other place. God bless the child with prayers from all of us.

As far as no crime being committed, that's correct. The law requires a license for anyone driving a vehicle on a public roadway. If she was in a private driveway, there is no license requirement. It was an accident, with no apparent negligence rising to the level of manslaughter, per the article.

OMG......still ridiculous, as she was backing-out of her driveway (to drive somewhere?). I'm just sayin'.

Why don't you morons watch over your children? Every week you hear about someone backing over a kid in their own driveway - since this is a regular occurance, these 3rd world uneducated ignorant people now need to be taught to make sure sure the area is clear especially when backing up - make sure your babies are not crawling around or running around the yard at the same time - I come from a large family and EVERY time some one is backing up another person is outside making sure none of the children or pets will end up under the wheels.
