Good luck to the animals...I already have 3 cats and a dog. There is no more room at the Inn.

If you are an animal lover, this is the agency that you should direct your donations to. We know first-hand, as we adopted a dog from them 1 1/2 years ago and saw what they do for these pets. They do not waste money on administrative costs or advertising-it all goes to the animals.

How awful. I hope the get enough volunteers to care for these animals. I would take 1 or 2 if I had room. Heck I would take all of them if I had room. : )

If all you can spare is a dollar please mail it to them. I've given a check, blankets, towels and a dog dish. I am My health doesn't permit me to foster a dog and I amunable to walk a dog but these other donations are possible for me to do. Please help them out with any amount of money you can spare. I just donated through their website. God bless these people in their wonderful work with animals in need. I hope the roof gets fixed soon.

You don't have to take animals. You can send or take them a blanket or a rug. You can go online and send them $2 or $5. Any little thing you can spare or donate will be appreciated.

If nothing else, tell your friends where they can help and send them the link to the shelter. Get the word out. THAT is free. It's on facebook too, so easy for many people to link to. I am glad the Pioneer press covered this.

Take good care of all the dogs and cats. It is perfectly OK to let a human being freeze to death under a bridge. We are a very compassionate species???????

Ah isn't that what insurance is for? I don't think I'm going to donate to an organization that isn't smart enough to have Nonprofit insurance.

You're a sucker, because they don't need donations they need better management.

I can't believe people who say there is't a need to donate. First of all they did have insurance but getting an adjuster there and getting it rebuilt won't happen in 2 days, so what are the animals and shelter operators to do. It's a non profit operation. They run with volunteers and the management is excellent. If you don't know them don't judge. Many buildings with expansive roof systems could have this happen. Look at the Metrodome, a stable owner killed by a roof collapse in this reion also. I gave and will continue to praise them. The Sheriff's of both St. Croix and Pierce counties plus twin city shelters have asked Gregory's to help them. Because one helps animals doesn't mean they don't help people. We have an organization that helps homless people which I support with money, a food shelf which I support with food and money, a battered woman's shelter I support with money, a thrift store that benefits hospice care which I support with money. I care beeply about all of the many social needs we have. The animals can't ask anyone for help so hep the people who are helping them just as you would any other social need.

They are insured. But in the rebuilding /immediate time they need blankets for the dogs. They need places for the animals to go while the repairs are made. Their adoption and fundraising event for the holiday season was slated for Saturday, when the storm hit. That will make for some grim times for the animals that are there and the animals that are found in the aftermath of the storm. This is the only shelter for a two county area so it is important.

How compassionate are we as a people generally? To people or animals? Have you done anything to help either, or are you just whining about the inhumanity so you dont feel pressed to do anything for either people or animals?
As for the people, yes, I think it is important to have shelters fro people too. There are so many areas of life that need the help of those of us who can give it. So give whatever you can to BOTH.
