The detour is a joke. Several routes are shorter, and will be used by anyone with a brain and a map.

don't get the joke either. i like cunnie and the other guy saying that you may want to allow "a little extra time" if going to the airport ect.. a "little extra time" means what? add an hour to this trip.

Caltrans is not closing the road immediately past the toll plaza that goes by the Legion of Honor and through the the golf course. The map of their recommended "detour" is waaaaay too far out of the way on Van Ness.

Depends on where you're going. If you're going to SFO, without factoring in traffic, Van Ness is about the same. And this is done on the weekend, so traffic shouldn't be that bad...

Why is Cal Trans not scheduling this for night work and night closure ?

Can we replace the Cal Trans management ?

Time and a half or double time. You want to donate the extra cost?

It's dark at night. And for work of this nature, lights are probably impractical...

Get this done and over with. It is going to be a pain in the ass either way since these projects are starting to overlap. Lets get this bridge and road construction underway so eventually things get better.

BTW great response by OldAsDirt...apparently "A Marin Voter" doesn't understand how OT and Double OT work, we are looking to save money anyway possible, plus this also makes more work for that 1 cal trans guy who does the work while his 5 supervisors watch.

They should have waited until after the Outside Lands Music Fest was over. This will make a mess!

Mt Man - Good news for you. The Doyle Drive site shows - "Closure Dates: August 22-23, September 12-13, September 19-20, and September 26-27." For the tree work.
So Outside Lands is not affected.

People can take 25th Avenue exit that is just past the toll plaza. Also there are several streets from Lombard St. People can turn right on every street except for Franklin which is one way st.
