He was obviously so much more of a man than the one that mowed him down.

It's strange how in every single article Fierro's professional accomplishments have to be mentioned. In the first couple of articles, that was the majority of the article. Oh well, degrees and connections do not make the person.

So let's keep our eyes on Magistrate Court. I think that is George Anaya or Richard "Buzzy" Padilla.

Does anyone know if these judges have ties to Fierro?

I bet they'll let him out or give some measley bail. They ought to set bail at $2million.

Hey, I heard someone was going to start a group for us. Has that happened yet? If not, perhaps someone should. If I knew how to do it, I would...

So True, the 1st articles in the paper gloried Mr. Fierro and went on and on about how many accomplishments he had!!! That still doesn't change the fact that he ruined so many lives. Degrees so not make a person, he may have been really smart but on the other hand really dumb too!!! Let him suffer the consequences and own up already!!!!

Whether it's George,Buzzy, or Sandy, I believe they will do the right thing and penalize Fierro to the fullest. It shouldn't matter whether he is connected or not. He took a man's life and fled the scene.....I agree with his daughter; he should own up to the crime and not be a coward. I am suprised that a State Trooper did not confess up to the crime as well.....this is a tragedy for this family.

WOW!! That was a pretty bold statement. Carlos did spend his Thanksgiving in jail. He is truly sorry for what happened. I know this, I spoke to him.
This tragedy has affected many, many lives. To assume that he is not remorseful is WRONG. He is a decent person. Not once has he said he is innocent! He will face this, he is not running.

I knew Mr. Tenorio in college when we called him Willie and saw him a few years after that. Willie was a truly great guy, had an amazing charisma and positive energy. I had the honor of being invited to his gatherings at San Felipe Pueblo a number of times. My condolences to his family, all great people.

Being that he is Native American and the accused driver is a politically connected lawyer, it will be an uphill battle getting justice in his case. I do fully accept the above poster's assertion that Mr. Fierro feels great remorse for this tragedy, but even so this is NM and it is difficult to get the well-connected to pay for their misdeeds, even if they actually were to want to do so.

Responding to "Hurt by this," Not once did he say he was innocent? They why have his lawyer go on the record and plead not guilty for him?
I'm sure he is sorry, sorry that he got caught, sorry for himself, sorry for his wrecked car, sorry for HIS family, not for the victim.
If he was sorry he would have stopped his car instead of fleeing the scene like the coward and selfish man that
he is.
He's not running away from this?
What do you call FLEEING the scene?

What an unbearable tragedy for Mr. Tenorio's children. Our Prayers, our thoughts and our deepest condolences go out to his surviving family and friends. What a huge loss the community of Santa Fe has suffered as well as the Native American communities.
I'm sure nearly everybody in Santa Fe knows Carlos, or has made his acquaintance. And I am certainly not saying that knowing him rights his actions, it doesn't. We all make mistakes, we all make bad choices at one time or another in our lives, it's how we learn and grow. However, this is a case where it would be so refreshing to hear a human being take responsibility and offer an apology to the family and friends that have lost someone so significant to them. Not that an apology would serve as his punishment as he should have to face the consequences of his decision to be behind the wheel of a car. But I'm sure that his family would appreciate someone taking responsibility for the loss they are feeling right now.
I imagine that if Carlos had to write a letter to Mr. Tenorio's children, every single year on November 26th, to extend his condolences for another year without their father, he would have to face the same yet different agony of that dreaded day. Just the same that Mr. Tenorio's children will forever have that day etched into their memories, so will he.
I hope that the courts will serve justice, accordingly. But for all of you who are calling the kettle black, remember, none of us is perfect! And at one time or another in your lives, you have also made a bad choice. Whether it was choosing to have a couple glasses of wine and then drive home or knowingly let your friend leave the dinner party after they had a couple of drinks. DWI is all to common. Just because you have yet to be caught or hurt someone, does not make it right. There is a lesson for all of us in this, learn it.

i knew willie also, he was my wife's uncle. he was a very nice and gentle man as well as a good father. very thougthful and caring too. the family will trust the court system to hopefully give justice to this man who caused the accident. they are not going into this blind with his brother in law being a lawyer himself in new mexico. good bye willie, you were a good man and a good person.

I feel sad for William Tenorio's family and leaving behind a family is devastating! Losing someone because of carelessness only doubles the pain! My deepest sympathy goes out to his family, relatives and friends!
Now Carlos needs to face up to the music and not try to creep out from this careless act!
We have a lousy judicial system to begin with and I hope the public will be watching this situation with a critical eye and see if the wheels of justice will run in favor the Tenorio family. The odds are very much against the family and if justice does not prevail hell’s going to break lose!

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Cancer

You could struggle to display your feelings and emotions at the moment. Being so sensitive, the smallest things could hurt your feelings, but no one else is likely to realise since you retreat into your shell at these times. This will not be a conscious decision, and you'll feel frustrated at your inability to explain the hurt you suffer.
