The missions are great historical features of the southwest and the lower valley is home to some great people that I know, but nowadays, that isn't going to make tourism pop. Tourism is now about thrill seeking and adventure, none of which El Paso can offer... unless you want to cross the border and try your luck there.

To Freddy Fender... you couldn't put the bottle down and wasted daughter's kidney.

We will never give up, we have the history and we will promote it and work hard to build this great historical corridor. You will see!

Wholeheartedly concur. El Paso will always be San Antonio's ugly, obese, acne-plastered, yellow-toothed, and gingival recessed step-sister. The only true missions and real tourism exist in gorgeous San Antonio. The only hope El Paso has is that she may get *inger-*uc*ed every once in awhile by some desperate stranger. You go, Miss Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!

Dick Andrews has since passed away, the Ivey's are tired of maintaining a total disarray of garbage, IE: Tires (Hundreds), sofa's, household junk, and anything with the title of Garbage, on Old Hueco road Obviously the people of Socorro have no dignity, very selfish, dirty, and low standards. That area used to be a fabulious beautiful area with much potential and no one has since maintained, other than destroyed. Where are the standards, guidelines, police enforcement, sanitation dept or whomever is in charge. Come on Socorro this used to be a beautiful small city with much potential for greatness. Also check out Socoor Rd. and surrounding roads, Junk cars, car lots no building codes or standards, and your trying to perserve the "Mission trail" where is city goverment and enforcement???? If you really want and need a beautiful Socorro it is imperative to concentrate on the problem and low standards in the Goverment, starting with the most filthy "The Gandaras and all there junk yards and total disregard for their neighbors, yes this is the Mayor and his Son and Nephews are just as dirty and Filthy (See for yourself)and then the city needs to enforce strict ordances, and force the residences to keep their households clean and clear of junk, cars, and garbage. Socorro is like a second or third world country and almost looks like Juarez. What an embarrasment, and yes our family has lived in this neighborhood in excess of 55 years, I know what standards and beauty are and progression and growth has not been a positive thing, especially with our Corrupt Mayor and city council.
