It is cold today, will the kids go back to school tomorrow, I think they should just give them and extra day after the end of the year instead of holiday vacations

Memorial Day. Really? What kind of attendance will there be by both students and staff. Guess they didn't think that there would ever really be a snow day.

Instead of making up another day just shorten the lunch 3.13 minutes for the rest of the year. A stupid solution for a stupid "decision".

Mike we aren't in 2010 anymore. The 2011 calendar lists May 30th as a Monday. Get with the times, literally!

Monday, February 21 is Presidents' Day. I believe YISD was considering this as their first make up day.

MEMORIAL DAY, WAKE UP DIPSHITS AND HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR THOSE THAT GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR OUR COUNTRY!!! I WON'T DISRESPECT OR DISHONOR ANYONE FROM MY FAMILY THAT SERVED, DIED AND OR IS SERVING CURRENTLY FOR THE UNITED STATES. HAVE SOME MORALS AND ETHICS UNLIKE YOUR LEADER GARCIA. MAKE THE DAY UP ON SUMMER BREAK.

This is a really tough call and may require out of city consultants to think this through. Quick call some one from Dallas! El Pasoans can't decide for themselves.

Enough with the "hero" schit! You people overuse the hero card like blacks overuse the race card. You're in the military, you were, good for you. You signed up because you're a glory seeker or had no other alternative or cause your father and his father served, I don't care! I see a soldier or vet in the street, fine. I mind my own business. Don't flaunt it in my face. Many other professions are just as noble and important in this country. Many others are "heores" too, not just current/former military.

We in El Paso will likely miss 2 days. My sister in Irving is missing 3-4 days. Look for possible waivers from TEA to not have to make up days with so many schools affected throughout the state.

Electrical power problems in the 21 at century because the electric company is still using technology from the 1800's - totally ridiculous. Ah but those managers keep getting their fat bonuses year after year.

Schools are not day care centers. It is the parents' responsibility to provide care for their children when they are not at school and that includes days when school is cancelled for an emergency.
