I have researched on this topic for hours and I keep seeing the same statement in every article. Leaving pastic water bottles in the sun or a hot car can cause cancer! The sun rays heat up the bottle and release a chemical called Dioxin. Dioxin kills human cells. Be aware people. Dont drink water bottles left in the sun or a hot car for any time period.

I Saw an episode on good morning America about 7 months ago.. And it's true. But it's all the same thing because what about when all the cases of water are leaving the warehouse and sitting in the big trucks in the heat fir days waiting to get delivered to stores.. It's scary especially for our kids.. You can't even drink tap water omg

It's actually bisphenol-A (BPA). It's a monomer used to make polycarbonate plastic. BPA effects the endocrine system & research has shown that it can effect thyroid hormone levels, cause reproductive damage, as well as birth defects that can eventually lead up to breast and prostate cancer. My advice would be to invest in a few BPA free bottles & a Brita water filter.

According to livestrong, as of the end of 2011, it seems they have discontinued use of dioxin and BPA (both considered toxic in the sun) in water bottle plastic. They say if u see the 1 triangle recycle symbol that lets u know it another type of plastic which the FDA does not consider toxic, even in some sun. The recycle symbols 1-6 do not contain significant amounts of BPA to worry. They say 7 is bad though.

Yes idiot but where do you think the water sits for days months till they are sent to H.E.B in a HOT factory so what is the difference .we still have no idea
