We all need to teach our kids the negative sides of sex, the perversions they will face AND make it CLEAR, that to lie about someone, a man who really never would hurt a child, like Michael Jackson, don't deserve that label. Not here to debate MJ, I'm convinced from personal experience and all who knew him he never hurt any kid.
Our kids need to understand they are just as guilty as a molester if they lie about being raped. They take away the credibilty of real victims and allow society to dismiss and be impotent in stopping this horrible crime.
That's one thing I like about being raised protestant and converting to Catholic Christianity. The missions are different, but we're all Christians. And the Catholics understand that unforgiven sin is terminal to your soul, but the blood covers you as a christian.
But they have scriptural teaching for mortal sin, like the difference betweeen stealing a cookie and child molestation. The latter is a mortal sin that requires a great deal of counceling, supervion and pennance for a year to remove the evil one allows in his soul in order to commit such a severly evil act.
Please don't be ignorant and jump up against the Catholics. Calvary, the Baptists, Methodists, all of them have shown this is a universal problem in churches around the world. The blame lies with the predator and the people around him/her too weak and passive to be open and confront the problem, follow the rules and implement justice, as God would have it. The blame lies with people, God help us, and protect our children.
