I want to thank everyone who made an intelligent, informative or supportive comment. I want you to know I appreciate it and am making sure that I do and help in any to ensure that little Baxter makes a full recovery. Mr. Wagner has been very understanding about this entire unfortunate situation. I cannot thank him enough. I have made provisions to insure that this will never happen again. Simply that my dogs will never be brought to work again. I try to be as responsible with them as I possibly can. They are always leashed. I socialized and trained them from puppies to help insure their temperament. Everyone has always commented on how behaved they were. They are a beautiful, intelligent, loyal, protective of their owners type breed. However their only negative aspect is their apparent aggression towards other animals. I can't express enough how sorry and disappointed I am that this ever happened. I have been checking on Baxter with Mr. Wagner and he is doing well under the circumstances. Mr. Wagner is definitely a very understanding unique individual. He nor Baxter deserved any of this. Thanks again to everyone for your comments.

Excuse me sir but name calling seems a bit childish. I was simply stating a fact. Why does this make me a yuppie? Go sell some vacuums, lol.

If this had been a Pit Bull, the dog would have been put to death immediately and the media would be all over it.
It is a fact that Akita's are far more aggressive than Pits and if Mr. Ligenfelter wasn't sued and his dog is still alive, he's the luckiest guy in the world.

The owner of the small dog had walked INTO the store with his dog. The Akita's never charged outside or through the door. Only one dog had picked up the small dog in it's mouth. Ther were a couple puncture wounds on the small dog. Amazing how the news likes to "Sensationalize" things WAY out of proportion. The owner was NOT attacked NOR knocked down. The man tripped turning around towards the door WHILE inside the store with his dog. No one was sued and no dogs were put down.

I don't know who you're telling to go sell some vacuums, but I am the owner of the store and I did not make the reply to your statement. Had I done so, it would have much better than calling you a "yuppie". And whomever did make such comment does not work for me either. LOL
