Thank God for the illegal immigrants because no one around wants to work around here except for the immigrants. Many others just want to sit on there butts and collect unemployment and welfare. People need to open there eyes and look and see who is doing most of the physical labor on the streets and bridges being built around here . Also look and see who is doing alot of the dangerous work.

I can't believe you would put this on here!! My husband is down in Ft. Myers driving gravel truck and has to put up with all the illegal immigrants who paid extra to get a commercial license. This is the most dangerous thing imaginable!! The next time you drive by a dump truck look at and think about how smart and safe the person driving that truck is!!! My husband has almost been killed many times by these drivers who you thank God for!! And half the time they only reason they are the ones working instead of us citizens is because they will take any money they get, so the employers will pay way below min. wage. Did you think about that?? You may want to think a little more about this situation. If they want to work here, what is so hard about becoming a citizen and being legal???

It cost money and time to become a legal citizen, and the majority of these people have neither. It amazes me how you can assume that just because a person is illegal they can not drive. Come on, that is just ignorance speaking.

Why don't we start an indentured servant program like we had when this country was first being colonized? I think that would ensure that people had a viable means for coming into the country legally, and also, that the people who do come would be those who want to work.

Why don't they just do as the immigrants whom first came to this country and become citizens.....WAIT that means they would have to pay taxes...

If they became citizens they would have the same rights as everyone else in this country in terms of labor laws. If you got something going on that does not allow you to become a citizen in this country you should go back. And for the record there are homeless people of every race. Why don't you learn how to spell and focus on an education. It is illegal for them to be in this country. You want respect it is earned. IMMIGRATION KNEW WHERE THEY WERE ALL AT ON MONDAY I'M JUST CURIOUS AS TO WHY THEY WEREN'T THERE CHECKING FOR GREEN CARDS BECAUSE I GUARANTEE THERE ARE PLENTY OF THOSE HOMELESS WHITE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR JOBS TO IMMIGRANTS THAT WOULD WORK FOR LESS THAT WOULD HAPPILY TAKE THEM BACK

Why don't you eductate these people on how to become citizens and then maybe you wouldn't have to complain about them not paying taxes. You make it seem as if the only reason they do not become citizens is because they don't want to pay taxes. Well, you are WRONG!!!! The majority are not familiar with the citizenship process.
They don't spend their time watching TV or reading the newspaper. The majority of immigrants spend their day working under the hot sun, so that people like you can go to the supermarket and purchase cheap fruits and vegetables.

You speak of ignorance and education, but you seem to lack courtesy and common sense. You assume that only immigrants were present for the march on Monday, but lady I can assure you the majority were legal tax paying citizen.

Never said there weren't any legal citizens at the protests on Monday. How can you not be familiar with a citizenship program that has been in place for many many many years. It is not my responsibility to pay for these people to receive an education on how to become citizens. If you are serious about becoming a citizen these are things that should be done on their end to do so. When I was speaking of lack of education I was referring to the comments by lil loca. They are talking about a week long protest here....that is taking it to far. Those people should lose their jobs. I'm not now or ever have said that they do not work and do not deserve the right to what I am saying is that you want the freedom we as American citizens have then become a citizen and contribute to your country in more ways then labor.

And once again you are making saying only immigrants work out in the hot sun all day. Not true. Again, learn english, get a better job and better pay become a legal citizen.

Why should someone wo broke our laws be on the fast track to being an American. It means something to be an American. I am sure that the Mexican workers did not come here to become an American. They came here to work. Let's let them work legally but they have to prove that they want to become an American. The Mexican people would prefer their flag over the American Flag. That is the proof. If they really want to be American let us see them assimalate in to the American culture and speak English, learn our history!

We don't want terroists in our country. If we don't make immigrants become citizens, how do we know who is here? If you want to be an American, you would be worried about this as well and understand why you need to become a citizen.

Hello out there,
am a latina with 5 generations here in the united states. My family has been here as far back, when texas was part of mexico and the white man came and claim the land when mexico went into depth with the USA.I feel that the latinos need to put fourth more effert to protest with the goverments in there country so things can change there also, the usa will stay the same they will make new laws these law will effect the latinos later down the road where they will have to pay fines up the but to just get premission to work here is it worth it? for some maybe for other not the program that got the protest started really need to look at the whole picture, not just the moment. the future is and will get harder the protestor just fell for the bait, they know where and how many states need the immagration reenforce due to the marches they did to change laws don't get me wrong its good for change but you must analyzed the whole pictures, before it bite everyone in the A..........good luck to us all and let hope it happen but remember they will be a rude awaken and people are going to have more problems then justice!

are you familiar with becoming a us citizen, you speak of it as if it was like getting a drivers license it is a long, long and expensive road that other culters don't have to do not pointing fingers but we all know hatians and cubans as long as they reach us soil they are granted citizenship.at the rate that hispanics are getting pay'ed most of them can't afford to become citizens and learn you'r histery about half of the us belonged to mexico so who was here first the way I see it we are all immagrants we just became citizens when it was easy long long time ago.

well i think your wrong there here to live on welfare and live with about 10 people and about 6 kids, all they want is our welfare and taxpayers to pay for everything else so they can save there money and send it over to mexico.there not helping the us. i dont think i have seen a mexican in war yet.i think they all should go back and stay in there own country.it would be less crime also and drugs.
