Be careful of promises made by their employees, they won't back them up.

I purchased two Walther P22 pistols at the last Cow Palace gun show, and was specifically told that 2 mags will be included with each gun.

When I picked up the guns only one mag was included in the box, and the person that sold me the guns at the show conveniently did not remember the conversation or the promise they made to include the additional mag.

So if you plan on buying anything from them, get everything in writing, or you may not get what you think you're supposed to get.

Customer service is poor, especially from the female who is cold and borderline rude. This placed opened up across the srtreet from an established gun store in San Bruno. Plenty to go around why try to pilfer from an already open store. I wouldn't purchase a weapon or supplies from these people.

Thats so stupid of you to make a post like this talking about them opening a store across the street when YOU/YOURSELF bought a gun from them anyways so get real with your comments! You could have bought it from the dealer across the street instead then. After hearing that comment who would believe your post. The female in there was always nice when I was there and very helpful too in interacting with the packed sales floor of customers that come in.

When I bought the same gun from the store on on friday it only came with 1 mag. Even the website states it. Do your research before making a purchase instead of moaning and groaning about it. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores...
At the bottom of where it says Features it SAYS it comes with only ONE MAG. I even asked them about this, and they said it was a misunderstanding and they even ordered extra mags for you just to appease you, it just goes to show that no good deed goes unpunished.

Perhaps you need to review the whole story, here it is:

I never said that the gun was supposed to come with 2 mags from the factory, rather they told me that 2 mags will be included with each gun. That was the deal they made me for buying 2 guns at the time of the show.

That was the reason why I bought the guns from them, rather than from one of the other dealers at the show. When I went pick up the guns, they only had one mag, and the person I had dealt with at the Cow Palace show was not there. They told me to call back in a few days, so I can tale to the girl that sold me the guns. A couple of days later I called and got a hold of her, but she flat out told me that she didn't remember anything about it.

I tried to remind her about the conversation and the deal they made me at the show, that the reason I bought 2 was because they included the mags, but she said no, the guns only come with one mag and that's that. She did offer to sell me the mags at their cost,($23 or 25), but that wasn't the point. Why should I have to pay for something that was supposed to be part of the original deal.

I told them that this wasn't right, but if she insisted on treating a paying customer that way, I too could fight back by posting reviews on the internet about their customer support.

They said that's fine. So I posted the review above.

A couple of hours later, I got a call back from them telling me that there must have been some misunderstanding and that they will indeed order the mags for me, however it would take a couple of weeks to get them. I thanked them and I even placed an order for a couple of accessories for the P22.

It's been nearly 3 weeks and I haven't yet been contacted by GG guns. When I do get the mags, I will post a message here, with more details.

Micheal,
Well said, a deal is a deal, there's no point in buying a mag that was offered for free for the DEAL.
But customer service, they seemed pretty nice and kind at the show.

Wow! I'm a little confused here. You say you bought 2 (two) pistols at the show? How'd you get around the 30 day rule?? Are you LE?

All I can say is having dealt with the employees and owner (Phil, Kevin, and Linda) for a few years now you couldn't ask for nicer people and better customer service. These folks are formerly Highbridge Arms from SF are well respected. I have purchased a few pieces from them and lots of accessories and always been treated extremely well. Attitude makes a big difference and especially so with guns and gunshops. Might want to rethink yours or simply find another shop. Just my 2 cents

Well respected? I'd say somewhat respected. Less than honorable dealings with them at highbridge arms.

Employee stated one price for transfer but when I went back the quote changed. The atmosphere was better(friendlier) when the cold borderline female was not there the first time I walked in. I would stick with City Arms for your transfers.

I don't know why there are so many poor reviews of this place, including those of Linda, but she has been fantastic in helping me through a recent FFL out-of-stata transfers. When I went in today, it was a bit of a wait due to how many customers they had in there, but the overall customer service was absolutely fantastic. Linda has been very helpful in this process. If you are looking for a great little cornerstone neighborhood firearm dealer, Golden Gate Guns is the place. The staff is professional and very courteous, while providing what seemed to be pretty reasonable pricing and a good selection of firearms.

So how much did they charge you for your transfer with the DROS? Did you just have one item or was it a multiple transfer?

Kevin and Linda are super nice. I did maybe 6 transfers at this store and each time they are extremely nice. If you expect them to bend down as part of a customer service look somewhere else. All I know with 6 or so PPTs at that store each one went pretty smooth. I want to take em a box of chocolates just for being nice and patient.

The reason I tried to avoid that store is because of that female employee. I've dealt with her twice and both times she was cold and condescending.

Linda and Kevin are both cool.
Just picked-up a new FN SLP Mark-1 shotgun from them, and I got a good deal.
Kevin goes out of his way to please the customers, while it looks like Linda is holding down the fort.
Everyone has different characters, so you will never be able to please every customer all of the time.(Grow-up and just deal with it. Not everyone caters to your every whim and desire).
Personally, my experience there was good. They can order almost anything for you, and since they own the place, you can wheel-n-deal if you have your thinking cap on.(Can't get more American than that)!
They are primarily a dealership, so gunsmithing work will still go to Frank down the street. Nothing wrong with good ole competitiveness. It keeps the prices competitive, which is good for the economy, and "mom and pop" places.
You want to cry about $20.00 or $30.00? Then maybe you shouldn't be shooting, as it is an expensive hobby/sport!!
I'll be back to patronize them.
Raymond
