I am the cousin of the 14 year old girl, Tiffany Breslin. Just to clear up a few facts she died at about 2:20 AM and from what I understand from her family she was not the driver of the seadoo. My cousin was a magnificent girl and will surly be missed. Also her organs are being donated to save other lives. My heart goes out to Desiree's family. Our girls are safe with God now.

I am a family member of the 14 year old girl, Tiffany "Tiff" Breslin. Just to clear up a few facts she was pronounced dead at 1:20 AM on July 6, 2008 just short of one month before her 15th birthday. The people that took her life were drinking as it is now a criminal investigation. Tiff had so much more to accomplish and now that is all taken away OVER ALCOHOL!!!!! She was riding on the PWC with one of her older sisters best friend. The family has not only lost their beautiful daughter but an extended family member as well. The lives of these two families will NEVER be the same again!!!! God Bless

I was sitting on the beach & heard the crash. We all jumped out of our chairs and could not beleive what had just happened. My day was not the same after seeing that. My heart goes out to these families, I'm soooo VERY SORRY for their loses. 3 years ago I lost my nephew to a car accident (he was only 22 yrs old) and the only son my brother had.

Dearest Hobill Family: I was truely sadden to read about the lost of Desi. It was just last Sunday Erin and ran into Ashley working. I have fond memories of our girls playing softball over the years. Erin still calls Ron coach! My heart is heavy writting this, because it seems like just the other day our young daughters were little girls. They have all grown into fine beautiful young women. As much as my heart pains for the both of you. I know Desi is in the presence of our savior Jesus Christ. She knows you love her and will always love her. I love your family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Just remeber your love is strong for one another, this is important, becuase you will need each other to get through this. Again I am sorry that the world seems a little less brighter today without Desi.

My heart and prayers are with both families. We were sitting on the beach when we heard call 911. As the two young girls were pulled onto the shore, everyone tried to do what they could. I still cannot believe how long it took EMS to respond. We have been praying and hoping that they had pulled through, and I will never forget their innocent faces. There are no words that can express how sorry we are for your loss, our prayers are with you.

I feel compelled to try to set the record straight regarding the boating ACCIDENT on July 5th. At least one letter writer doesn't know the facts of the accident. First of all this is a tragic event for everyone involved. I don't think the operator of the boat will rest easily for some time to come. This is a perfect example of what happens when inexperienced children are at the controls of 200 horsepower personal water craft. Yes, it was determined that the 19 year old rider started out from the beach at the controls but they switched places when they were out on the water. It was determined that the 14 year old was at the controls at the time of the accident. There was absolutly no alcohol involved with this accident as proved by the sheriff's report, the operator was tested and his blood alcohol level was zero. The operator of the boat as well as the other passengers of the boat had the PWC in sight at all times and were trying to get the attention of the inattentive operator when all of a sudden the operator of the PWC decided to abruptly change course and jump a wake at full throttle into the boat which was turned trying to avoid them. These "drunks" then pulled one of the victims from the water and revived her on the swim step and pulled the other victim to shore for medical aid all after having immediatly called 911. No one can feel any worse than the people involved and, unless you were there, you shouldn't speculate as to the coherency of the people on board the boat. It is an obvious knee jerk reaction to assume that alcohol was involved.

Michelle,
This was Mike Breslin's daughter. They lived on my street for several years until they moved about a year ago. She was a great kid.

the girls were not inexperienced in riding. Tiffany the younger one has been riding for at 5 years-and desi has been on the river most of her life-please do not speculate as to their abilities...this has been a tragic life changing experience for all parties involved--please drop the finger pointing and embrace the ones in need....

There were many witnesses to this tragedy and I find your comment offensive. I have no relation to the victims and do not personally like PWs, but your comment is ignorant. I have grown up going to the river and seen too many accidents and most have been from boat drivers that do not use caution. As far as your comment about seeing the accident and it being the pw's fault, it seems funny since there were also statements taken at the scene from bystanders on the beach that stated the boat turned in front of the pw's. I feel that all that matters is that 2 young lives are gone and the need to say as usual the pw wasn't paying attention is a heartless comment from a cruel person!

I heard that the driver of the boat was not drinking at all. This is a terrible accident.. I first hand always see people on wave runners just turn without looking behind them!! Iv taught my 17 year old to always look behind them, because ya never know whats going to be there.. Im sorry for the loss.

Now that the finger pointing has started. The real culprits here are the states who regulate every move we make with fees and citations. Some how they have over looked that ANYONE reguardless of age, skill or mental capacity can ride one of these river wine flies (wave runners). The states need to set,yet more rules for the non-comonsense thinkers out there, who have total disreguard for vehicles in motion, especially on water. They need to set age requirements or the need for the operators to posses special credentials and training prior to use and purchase of these vehicles. To hunt, if you are under eighteen you need to attend a series of classes prior to receiving a license. In Castaic California, the wave runners are only allowed on a certain portion of the lake. As far as those who bang on another alcohol related incident, gather the facts first. The day of the drinking or drunk boat driver are very close to being extinct. In talking to some of the cops this weekend at the river, the BUIs were way down yet again.
This was the most extreme of tradegies for all parties involved. I feel for all the families.

I bet they were enjoying "Water Sports" with Mayor Leon when the sexcapades went awry. Oh the humanity of girl on girl finger wiggling love involving a boat and a drunken horny old mayor. Did Mayor Leon ask for forgivness from God before or after he shot a load in their mouths, causing them to lose control of the boat?
This is a shameful post!
