Victim has a history of being violently attacked. Six times stabbed??? Assailant must be very mad at this ex-marine. Any behavioral problem with this Neiman? Intrussive on people spaces? Sarcastic? Demeaning? Threatening? Neiman must have triggered for the assailant to act. Who knows?

The guy apparently had some problems with other people, especially after being stabbed. So, it seems to this reader that he provoked fights. The reporter of this article was too lazy to dig deeper into the personality of the victim and overemphasizes that he was a marine to present the victim in a positive light.

Trevor was one of the nicest peopleand never met anyone that didn't like him. He never provoked fights with anyone. He was not like that at all. There are crazy people in this world and Trevor happened to run across a few of them in his short life. How dare you people speak of him like that. You know nothing about him and have no right to speak ill of him. He was kind, loving and so much fun to be around. He was stabbed for riding his dirt bike on a dirt road in the desert and the neighbors guest didn't like it. Don't comment on things you don't know anything about. HE is the VICTIM in this story...how dare you try to turn it around on him. We love you Trev and you will be missed by so many.

This poor guy lost his life and all anyone could comment on is his prior assault, as if this somehow warrants him to be attacked with a hammer by a nutcase. I'm not sure if people really are that callous and stupid, or if it is perhaps a defense mechanism that allows them to think that the victim somehow warranted this attack, so it could not possibly happen to them or their loved one. Well, guess what? Random acts of violence happen everyday to people who in no way deserve it, and this is an example of one of those senseless, tragic incidents. This poor young man was just doing his job, and he was attacked by some scumbag who probably should have been in jail serving time for prior convictions. My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to his family and friends, as I could not even imagine this happening to one of my loved ones. For all of you who are playing Sherlock Holmes, trying to make sense of why this man would be attacked, STOP. It makes you look incredibly heartless. RIP Trevor.

Pretty pathetic world where things have gotten so bad that so many people's first instinct is to blame the victim. The guy wasn't out partying or hanging with gangsters or tearing it up. He was installing cable. He just happened to be readily available as a victim for this monster to kill. The guy who did this has already been to prison for murdering someone else before. This is what that guy does and who he is.Considering the fact that he turned himself in there is a very distinct possibility that this animal wanted to return to prison.Apparently the quotes from the investigators about there being no reason for this at all flew over your idiot heads. Think about it. This was the suspect's family's home and they were there. Don't you think if the victim had done anything wrong they would have said something about it? Don't you think they'd come to the defense of their relative? But no, they didn't because he didn't do anything to cause or to justify his brutal murder. The fact that the victim had been a victim of violence before plays no part in this. They are totally and completely unrelated. You folks want to keep your head in the sand about what a violent and lawless society we have turned into. I guess blaming the victim instead of opening your eyes to the monsters that walk among us is how you do it.Keep pretending if it makes you feel better; right up until it's you who is the victim.

Many, many people did not survive his 3 tours in Iraq. Almost 19 years of war, probably over 100K dead per year due to the war. He died as he "lived".

To the family & friends of Trevor, I offer my condolences and prayers for strength & consolation at this terrible time.

To those fools, idiots, morons and ignorant azzes who would try to point the blame at Trevor...it just PROVES that you ARE fools, idiots, morons and ignorant azzes.

As a former Marine myself and Dad of a Fallujah Marine {2/2/echo...oohrah!}, I'm saddened {but not surprised} that the bulk of the posts thus far have been negative re:Trevor and/or the military. Some folks just don't get it that without our Armed Forces, they wouldn't have the luxury and freedom to express their views....no matter how misguided they may be.

To Trevor, stand down Marine, your tour on this plane was ended all too early, but your service shall be remembered by those who count.

Thoughts and Prayers for Trevor, family and friends....words are simply not enough to express the sadness that is felt over this young man's tragic death...he did NOTHING to deserve this....merely working to support his family....he served his country and fought for the rights and freedoms that we all enjoy and most take for granted...even those that use their right of free speech on this site....
The previous attack had nothing to do with him being murdered, doing his job as a cable installer and were not related in anyway....it is a shame that posters cannot see this for what it is without reading things into it that just don't exist.
His murderer was a convicted rapist and murderer that had served his time with good credits given, only to be released back into society to once again, murder an innocent person. That is what citizens should be outraged about concerning this murderer.
Trevor Nieman served his country proudly and did 3 tours in Iraq, only to return to his country and be killed while installing cable trying to support his family. He is the hero here. He is the one that deserves the respect of us all. His family and friends deserve our sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers.
Remember, he fought for you to have the right to free speech but it doesn't mean you have to use that right to run an innocent victim into the ground without justification.

This is brutal and i hope the criminal that did this goes back to jail for life and someone in there tortures him so bad that he will regret he was born at all.

AI G,
i did not read your comment before. I am happy to have read it, because i want to respond to your question. Lets say that the tech was sarcastic as you might think, so what, haven't you been sarcastic in you life. Do you deserve to die for that. The murderer could have just sweared at the tech and make him leave the house which the tech would have done gladly since they do not like confrontations. There is no excuse for what that f... murderer did. Are you a relative of that p... of sh...? Think about it now! God has a special place for you?

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Taurus

Someone is very short-tempered, and they're liable to fly off the handle at a moment's notice. Maybe they're feeling vulnerable in some way or are desperately trying to defend what they see as their territory. Be sensitive to this and don't goad them into being even more irritable or upset than they are already. Frankly, it's just not worth it.
