Deputies conducted sobriety tests on the driver and determined the driver was not intoxicated.

Something tells me they should have checked the driver of the wheelchair too.

Yesterday a man on a motorized wheelchair approached me for money. Poor guy reeked of booze. After other people rejected him, he crossed onto Grove without looking!

I knew Loiue, he was from the same city I was raised in. Although he chose a different path of life than most would have, he still deserves his respect. No death is deserved no matter what .Please do not judge him, he tried to survive the best way he knew fit. RIP Loiue, you are in a much better place. May God Bless you

Everybody knew Louie young and old, he was a nice guy with a alcohol problem. He never harmed anyone he was really a funny guy who made you laugh. Regardless he smelled like alcohol he was human. When you heard loud singing at 2 a.m. it was Louie because he was happy..lol : ) Louie was liked by everyone even the MPD..He will be missed..

On behalf of the extended family, please continue with the prayers and keep the negativity to yourself. His kids have enough to deal with. Thanks.

It is a normal practice to do a sobriety test whenever a motorvehicle is involved. The wheelchair is not classified as a motorvehicle due to the inadequite speed.

It was an oberservation they made.
Yes still human. If he was drunking at the time of the accident, not only did he put his life in danger but, the lives of others.

Why is everyone saying, "he was a good friend?"
Friends do not let friends get to that point.
If he were MY friend I would help him and not let him die on the streets!

REST IN PEACE Mr.Chambers.

RIP Louie, a nurse and myself performed CPR on Louie. I feel we keep him alive enough to die in a hospital and not in the street. It is a shame he is gone, I would always see him driving around in his chair.

Kenny it is only obvious you did not know him. I said he was a nice guy.
As far as not letting your friend get to that point, he was a grown man with a mind of his own. And yes he could have put others in danger, so whats your point of trying to make people feel worse than they do. I quite sure somebody thinks your nice but, I don't know you and I think you are a mean spirited person and I say that because that's only an opinion. You may be the nicest person in the world and a drug addict it still does not make you less as a person. Yes everybody in M-Town and D-town knew Louie and knew he was a likable person..

Louie was a distant cousin of mine. Unfortunantly he did have a drinking problem. He did have family that loved him, brothers, sisters, children and granchildren. Louie was harmless and would not hurt a fly. Has anyone seen him do the slow walk? OMG it was so funny. I think its on you tube. We'll miss you Louie,
I love you and everyone in M-town and D-town loves you.
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

I had a childhood friend that ended up a crip due to spinal cord injury, he paid like $5000 for his wheelchair. It had all the bells and whistles you can get on a wheelchair, but who'd want to be in one anyway. Does anyone know if this guy had an expensive one or not?

Rest In Peace Crazy Louie. You will be missed at the donut shop where you use to hang out and ask for dollars to buy yourself a Cobra.

Do you have a link for the YouTube? I'd like to see the dance. I used to see him now and then. Bless all of you.
