The retired general will win the election due to several factors: The state does not require sheriffs’ canidates to have law enforcement experience and she has tons of leadership experience and will work with the commissioner court instead of fighting them. She will find ways to cut waste without jeopardizing jobs, and the public’s safety. She is trained and experienced in these areas. The general will have a large support base of the voters in the north, northwest, northeast, and most all current and former military personal, which historically vote and are involved in the political process. She will draw the democrat Hispanic vote of those fed up with “good ol boy” mentality of the democrat candidates, who no doubt will continue to hire their friends, relatives, compadres, sanchas, etc.
The democrat candidates are at each other’s throats and will split the votes amongst each other with no clear winner, just as the Republicans are currently doing at the national level. The democrat candidates cannot depend on large voter turnout in the east, west, and southern parts the county. Historically, these areas have a very low turnout on Election Day (remember Phil Hardberger vs. Julian Castro?). It will be a repeat.” Let’s be honest. La Raza talks the talk, but they don’t deliver when it count. And this friends, is the honest truth.

Not true, the Hispanic vote will back up the only worth while candidate for Bexar County Sheriff. Andy Lopez is the one to bring the Sheriff's Office back to the professional level it can truely be with the proper person in command.

pinche raza won't bother to vote. Just look at the school board in the southside and westside. They are a mess and they keeps voting for those criminals on the school board. They didn't bother voting to keep Bexarmet alive, much less expect them to vote for sheriff. Hell, they hate the sheriff. Most of their relatives are in his jail!

My apologies to confusing Lopez and Ricketts in my response to Karen's post. The point is that voting for someone just because they "have the look" is ludicrous!

I don't know how people are jumping in the Andy Lopez bandwagon - he's a gypsy cop!

Here are a couple of corrections to misinformation being posted on here:
Susan does not work for USAA anymore, she's retired.
Susan is NOT being endorsed by Wolff, Ralph Diaz is.
Susan ran against Tommy Adkisson's, not Judge Wolff (Kevin's daddy).

An "LE background" is what we've had in the Sheriffs Office for years and look at where it's gotten us! We (the Raza) are tired of the good old boy system and all the people ties hit Bexar county cronyism. It's time to vote for a change!

I am in fact a proud supporter of Susan Pamerleau and hope that we am get her into office!

Question: If Amadeo Ortiz (D) and Susan Pamerleau (R) are the two candidates in the general election, who will you vote for?

Karen. In reference to your post. I also like the hat of Andy Lopez. I also like his signs they are attractive. I also am voting for him. But I am not voting for him because of his hat and signs. Although I agree with you he is our George Strait version of law enforcement. I am voting for him because I have read his handout card. 40 years of law enforcement and a christian plus his experience in patrol, detective, sgt, and a taskforce investigator with the District Attorney's office. His education in criminal justice and law enforcement. And to the Susan supporter. I have read Susans website. All I see is her different educations in different universities and states. Not one word about law enforcement. She is not from here so don't talk bad about our TEXAS men. TEXANS are proud of their hats, wranglers, boots, and belts. Susan needs to go back to Kentuky or wherever she is from. Our vote go's to one of our own. Andy Lopez. Walking tall himself. So Susan if this is you or one of your supporters we have a slogan here in Texas. DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS.
Lopez is another Gypsy cop who Han run in every sheriffs race the last 30 years. He does it for the cash. If he did manage to win get ready to have the good ol boy system back at the sheriffs office starting with the crook of crooks Henry Martinez as Chief Deputy. And his picture on his signs looks like a post mordum pic. Vanity never wins!!!

I myself like Andy's picture. I met him at a La Villita dinner. If he wasn't straight and married I'd hit on him. But even though his is straight and married I'm still voting for him.

I'm surprised anyone has seen Andy Lopez signs being that ricketts is so worried that he'll lose again, that he and his hired Farias boys have been destroying Andys signs and putting up larry signs in their places. Then again, I guess that would be the only recourse for a scared, desperate little man with no spine, much less no qualifications! Little Larry was even warned , very graciously, to refrain from this CRIMINAL activity, and begged Andy not to go public, but has continued to break federal law, thinking no one has been watching. Guess again!

I also think it's funny how Little Larry seems to have forgotten that Andy Lopez hired him at the sheriffs office, and gave him a perimeter guard job when all the other administrators disagreed. Then, Larry goes gets fired for playing dominoes with inmates instead of doing his job, and has the nerve to call himself "qualified".

As for the who will you vote for question, Ortiz or pamerlaeu? What a joke. But a nice attempt at the power of suggestion. When you get past Psych 101, let us know, but short of being hypnotized out of voting for the best choice for Sheriff, you're spinning your republican wheels.

I'm still voting for ANDY LOPEZ!

Amen, Brother! Susan Pamerleau is only option that makes sense. All of my family and military and law enforcement associates have had enough of the good "ol boy system." We want integrity, not shysters as Sheriff. The status quo has been in place since Ralph Lopez! Ya basta! Oh, by the way, I'm Hispanic. This is not a racial thing.

You can say anthing you want, even write in "low life barrio talk." The bottom line is that Mejicano DO NOT VOTE! You can write all you want about Ortiz, Lopez, etc, but they will not win because the movers and shakers in Bexar County are not backing them up. Money talks bullshit walks. LULAC does not count.

You can take the Mexican out of the barrio, but you can't take the barrio out of the Mexican. Your grammar and sentence structure tell me that you were never in the AF and if you got in, you were in at the bottom of the aptitude scores on the entrance exam. You obviously didn't make too far in the AF. You can't control your emotions and you lose control. HAHA!

My My Ricketts. Is that the best you can do. Didn't you try this same scheme four years ago and it didn't work. After four years if Mr Lopez had hot checks don't you think he'd be in the lockup by now? After all that is a crime. And speaking of crime. Didn't you contact Andy Lopez after he beat you in the last election by over 30,000 votes? Did you not meet with him and offer your support and endorsement in the runoff with Ortiz? On one condidtion. If he gave you a job as a chief? And when Andy Lopez told you that he would be happy to recieve your support but told you NO that he would not promise you a position because that would be a crime you turned and went to Ortiz. Ortiz agreed to give you a position and you endorsed him and were even on a television commercial endorsing him. Now that to me sounds like Ortiz offered you a bribe and you accepted the bribe. But you never got the position he offered you like all the others he offered positions to. Bribes are criminal actions you know. Or maybe you don't since your not so well experienced in law enforcement. Mr Ricketts has run for Sheriff several times both as a Republican and a Democrat and lost everytime. He even ran for State Representative 118 against Mr. Farias and lost. What's he going to try for next? President? Mr Ricketts is apparently upset with Andy Lopez because he knows Andy is way ahead of him and will beat him in the primaries. He knows his bribe companion doesn't have a chance of being re-elected so he or his suppo
rter go after the next Sheriff Andy Lopez.
CallBurnet County SO, call Bexar County SO, call Granite Shoals PD,Call Nixon PD.... Gypsy Gypsy Gypsy that can't keep a job...every word out of his mouth is a lie,not one ounce of truth comes from that man's mouth....I'd rather vote for the man that keeps trying to make a difference however he can than to for a lying gypsy.....

Amen, Ask all your brothers in blue how they felt after every election when wonderful Andy Lopez left town and didnt give one thought about what happened to them(not just once but every time)he lost too? How can you stay gone for 3 to 4 years at a time and know what the current concerns of the deputies or department is? At least Ricketts as stayed put in Bexar and remained involved and in contact...Ricketts fought for his country in Vietnam and worked several positions in BCSO and is now a Peace Officer for Pct 4 not to mention he is a successful business owner of over 27 years guess he's pretty smart after all.
