Pasco Sheriff's Department is a joke

I think that the Pasco County Sheriff Department has turned into a joke. I have voted Bob White in the passed and he has been running this department for sometime now and he will not get my vote this time. I have lived in San Antonio for 50 years and have seen a lot of changes. One of those changes in the last few years are high speed motorcycles running up and down Pasco Road just about every weekend at speeds of 100 miles per hour. How sports cars have joined them and are using Pasco Road for a race track. Just this morning I seen more sports cars at the credit union lining up for another race. The Sheriff’s Department has been called many times by residents and nothing has been done about it. I at one time I was talking to a officer about it when about six of the sports cars came down the road in front of him. What did he do about it? Nothing.. Now also we have all of these bicycle people that come here mostly from Tampa to ride, which is fine but they think that the road rules do not apply to them. Why in the hell doesn’t the law enforcement issue them tickets for disobeying law?? I have seen the sheriffs just go around them and not do anything. We have people running down the middle of the road all the time and refuse to get off the road when a car is coming. I am waiting for about ten of them to get run over in order for the law enforcement to start doing something.

I ride a motorcycle, but you'd rarely find me much over the speed limit, even when these maniacs try to push me by tailgating. They are so brave when they are in a larger vehicle. Funny to watch these big brave boys scoot away when I try to pull up beside them at the next light. More than once I have passed Pasco deputies who are sitting there watching traffic, yet ignore a car 2 feet off my rear. It has become safer for me to speed than to risk inciting another low-life road-rager. More people today ignore traffic laws than abide by them. I don't understand. Traffic fines would easily fill the state coffers while making life safer for all on our highways. Just think, a "tax" which only lawbreakers would have to pay. Sounds like win-win to me.

On another subject regarding our counties finest, what is there procedure for (NOT) stopping that truck during a medium speed chase up 301 all the way through the county, subjecting traffic to danger, and allowing the road to be damaged by grooves which we will put up with for months or years to come. Seems it was more of an escort than an attempt to stop a crime. Were they waiting for the fleeing driver to get hungry and "corner" him at Checkers Drive-thru? Or did they need another dozen cruisers to slow him down in traffic? Where have the pros gone?
