City residents lobby council to retain barricades
April 16 - About 175 people, many with signs, lobbied city council today to retain six barricardes put in place by King Country before Sammamish became a city in 1999.
According to a press release issued by the city, the city's comprehensive plan calls for opening up barricaded roads to improve circulation and emergency response times. Speakers noted, however, that the barricades improve safety and neighborhood quality.
No decisions were made during the three-hour meeting, nor is a vote planned.
