what's the story on the reelfoot lake stumpjumper. i heard that the family owned business stole the idea for the bow facing ores from someone else years ago. is this true? what's the history? who really invented these ores? i have googled it and got some info, but nothing is better than old family stories and rumors....

In the 1950's Calhoun purchased the pattern for the oars from Fred A. Allen. They were the first company to own the oars.
