Thanks for posting this Fly....My Son is one of the Soldiers returning...no one can possibly know the hell our Soldiers and families have been through this past year, but it's almost over! I want to thank the community for the support of our Soldiers...It has meant so much...My family, friends, and most of all, God, have been the only things to get us, and our Soldiers, through this.
I also want everyone to know that there is a big WELCOME HOME CELEBRATION planned for here in Magoffin County on March 14th at 1 p.m. at the Magoffin County High School. It's not only for our returning Soldiers, but also for all veterans of Magoffin County. ALL members of the community are welcome to attend....Hope to see everyone there!

I had heard they were having a ceremony here in Magoffin Co, but I didn't know when. If they need any help doing anything let me know. I'll be more than happy to join in.

You are right rico and suave. Lori has one biological daughter, but she has helped in raising her husband's 2 sons, and they do call her mom. Their biological mom's name is Tammy.

I have THREE children...I have one biological daughter. BUT I also have TWO SONS, who I could never love more if I had given birth to them...I have done more than just "help" raise them.... There have been SOME that have thrown around the words "STEP-MOTHER", like I am nothing more than a stranger to Scott...For them, all I have to say, is that I have been there for Scott since he was 6 years old, and his brother was only 5......I have been the one to get them ready for school everyday since they were in Kindergarten and 1st Grade....I was the one to help with their homework and make sure they got it done.....I was the one to get them to Little League practices and games....I was the one to get them to Grade School basketball games... to send them off to camp and make sure I was there when they returned to get off the bus (and in between worry myself to death about if they were home-sick)...To calm their fears when they started High School....To help teach them to drive a car....To help sell candy for Senior trips....To be there as they graduated High School....To be there when Scott graduated Basic Training in Missouri.....AND TO SIT UP ENDLESS NIGHTS DURING THIS DAMN DEPLOYMENT WORRYING MYSELF UNTIL I WAS LITERALLY SICK OVER MY SON SCOTT...HOW DARE YOU INFER THAT I AM A MERE STEP-MOTHER!!!....So to YOU, I simply say "Your words will NEVER be forgotten by me"....However, I have the comfort in my heart of knowing I raised all THREE of my kids to the best of my ability, and I still am. And if I have to say so myself, I KNOW I, and their Dad, did a great job!!!! Lori

I've already talked to my Mother and Father-In Law about it. If this is you, feel free to call me at the office tomorrow! Lori

Oh and by the way, it is sad that others can't come home and celebrate...Just this morning I requested prayer for the Soldiers and families that would be taking the place of my Son and his fellow Soldier's....WE CONTINUALLY NEED TO PRAY FOR OUR MILITARY SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN....Oh, just in case you didn't get it the first time...WE CONTINUALLY NEED TO PRAY FOR OUR MILITARY SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN!!!!!! But still, I thank God that he has seen fit to bring my Son and Nephew-In-Law home to us.....I will not aplogizefor that....They have done their time in Hell, and I am so proud of them!!
