I think its sad and pathetic that the teachers and staff at the high school want to give a student pop and candy, a student thats not used to having pop mind you, because at home, they believe too much caffiene and sugar is unhealthy for a child... then she ends up with pain in her side--only to sit at the hospital for 6 hours for it to be a UTI (UNIARY TRACT INFECTION)
SO, this leaves me to wonder, whose to blame here: the guardian, OR the teachers?

I think its wonderful, that teachers would GIVE children pop and candy!! What's wrong with you? Are you mad, because they never sent you one home? You're probably one of those parents, who eat candy and pop, all day long, while your children are at school, or after you make your children go to bed, then get out the candy and pop, and STUFF YOURSELF! One, or two pops and a candy bar, per day, is not going to give a child UNIRARY TRACK INFECTION! You sound like Cindirella's Mom, or STEP-MOM!! I cant stand parents, who do this, to their children! They take the joy out, of being a child! Children LOVE pop and candy, just like you do!!!!

Its so appropriate for teachers to allow students to have this-- when the GOVERNMENT took it out of the school systems bc it was causing children to be obese!!
Yes, I allow them to have an APPROPRIATE ammount of pop and candy, but they don't sit constantly with a pop and candy bar in each hand! If you want an unhealthy child, that's your progative, I'd rather my child know that its ok to have it as a snack, but also know what fruits and vegtables are as well! I APOLOGIZE for caring more for my child than you obviously care for yours!! Because, yes a little bit of pop n candy won't hurt, but TOO MUCH will! Any sane person knows that!
You know nothing of what you're talking about, yes, the teachers were constantly giving her pop, up to 7 a day, and YES that CAN and DID cause her to have a UTI.
Say what you will about me, but you sound more like the wicked step-mom to me, by what you're saying, you'll put kids in a sugar coma!

Question....... How are the teachers GIVING your child the pop? Do you mean your child is purchasing the pop and candy out of the vending machines? Wouldn't that be your fault for giving your child enough money to purchase SEVEN pops?!? Teachers have no where to store the pop and certainly cannot afford to buy pop for each and every student.

Yea, I have the same question----- How are teachers giving your child, up to seven pops a day? You're even more wicked, than I thought! You're a big liar, too!! Do you actually believe, that people on this THREAD, would believe You??? I don't believe you are Playing, with a Full Deck!! Your child probably broke the lock on your refrigerator door, and got them some pop!!!

OH YES!! I adore my children!! I am not too STINGY, to give my child a pop and a candy bar, like you!!! TIGHT WOD!!!

If you have these rules, and your child is in high school and she knows you do not permit this behavior, then why is she so freely accepting these treats? Is she mentally challenged as you appear to be? Sounds like the real issue is your parenting skills. Further more...PLEASE PROVIDE A LINK TO ANY EVIDENCE that soda can cause a UTI...you can't...because it doesn't! A UTI is caused by bacteria, not soda pop! Also, I really doubt that teachers are spending their own money to give your child soda and candy all day long....if it WERE true, then there certainly must be some reason they are feeling so much sympathy for her as to do so!

Wow, all ignorance in this county makes me laugh!

Although there is no scientific evidence linking diet to UTIs, some people have found that alcohol, tomatoes, spices, chocolate, caffeinated and citrus beverages, and high-acid foods might contribute to bladder irritation and inflammation.

http://www.healthcentral.com/encyclopedia/408...

And as any woman who has ever had problems with a kidney or urniary infection knows, drinking caffiene can be a cause, go ask your doctor, dumbasses!

Furthermore, All the teachers up there must be mentally challenged. They'll believe anything said....Schools in Magoffin are a joke, and the teachers, are an even bigger JOKE!

If I were you, I'd see if there wasn't something I could do about those teachers that is allowing this to go on, there has to be some kind of rule or something that teachers cant provide a student with pop or candy for that matter, since the machines are for STAFF only. I'm sure that they AREN'T ALLOWED to do this!

For the 2 IP addresses that keep resonding to the first person, I would just jump out on a limb here and guess that you are being so defensive because you yourselves are the very ones who caused this, and now your trying to make any excuse to make someone else look bad?!?!?! haha

If she's in high school shouldn't you be asking her why she's drinking it not blaming a teacher, really??? And most teachers will eat and drink in front of the children and never offer them anything, I'd be happy their being considerate not complaining about it.

You can't teach those who choose not to learn. Check the stats...how many of our local graduates go to college, vocational school or directly to work and are very successful...they become doctors, lawyers, dentists, nurses, radiologists, pharmacists, engineers, business people, computer specialists, teachers and on and on. Did they just learn it all on their own? I think not!

I graduated from MCHS and am now a practicing mental health counselor and I feel I received a good foundation education in high school which prepared me for college. I took Advanced Placement courses, which believe me were very tough, as well as advanced courses in math, English and science, and graduated with over a 4.0 grade point average.

If someone doesn't "learn anything" in high school, perhaps they need to attend school regularly, pay attention in class and do their homework instead of goofing off for four years worrying about their silly social dramas then wanting to blame everyone else rather than themselves for their own failure!

No one can make you learn...you have to want to! I'd nearly bet this person complaining is now receiving some government aid check courtesy of all those other graduates and me who are working so they don't have to!

By the same token, perhaps she was just born "dumb"! Really, is that the best response you could come up with? Perhaps you should be up there with that box of rocks as well.
