I agree that "Really" is a smart, reasonable person to give advice. Nevertheless, you say to listen to her advice, and then tell her to quit worrying about the drug heads. I'm glad that there are people out there willing to help give advice.

Thanks for the information. Let me get this right. It's under "i'm curr." I appreciate your concern. I get on here for the advice of others like yourself and "Really". Also, I like to think that I might be able to encourage others. Although I am an enabler, I am going to try my hardest to take the advice that you and REALLY have given me. I would rather see my son in a rehab. At the same time, if it comes down to it, I would rather see him safe in jail rather than have to bury him. If you ever need to talk, I check up on the comments daily. It gives me encouragement to know there are people who care. Thanks for your consideration.

The sad part is when you would rather see your child in prison or jail with murders or theives because you feel he/she is safe. I'm the same way. At least I know he/she won't be putting anyone else in danger because of drugs/alcohol. In the old days we used to have a drink and drive but if we decided we wanted more we put someone else behind the wheel. Drugs wasn't part of the picture. We just didn't need it to have a good time. We just had fun being together with our friends because we had real friends. There was no peer pressure to be bad just because it was the thing to do. Our friends would stop us if they had to rope and tie us down. We respected each other and would stand up for our friends because we knew they were good people. If we screwed up they would be the first to go to our parents and tell them to help us and the parents would. We got grounded and if the police caught us there was no payoff or no begging to let us have one more chance. We were punished at home more than any jail would think about. Love your children and stop letting them tell you what to do. I did and I paid dearly. they can be convincing. Love them and help them.

I love him more than life. I just can't ix him and I've exhausted every measure. He has been doing so well. Still is doing well as far as how many pills he takes, but pills lead to other problems as well. I am an enabler, that is trying to learn not to be. I'm a single mother of 3. He is the eldest. He is such a good boy, until it comes to his drug of choice....not having it. He mows, weed eats, takes the garbage out. He does anything I ask him to do. But, there is still alot of trouble in his and my heart. Even his younger siblings worry about what is going to happen to him. He has a great support system. Not just me and his siblings. Also, my family. My mother, brother, sister, cousins, etc. I am totally at a loss. I can't fix him. I know all about tough love, and all too well about getting wore out when I was young with switches. I knew better than to get out of line. He's too old for a whippin now. Not that He didn't get whippins he did. I think a son needs a tough Dad behind him every step of the way. I really don't know the problem or solution. I'm exhausted on trying. It's like it goes in one ear and out the other. He's a hard worker, draws his unemployment right now. I feel hopeless. Especially if you live up the hollar I do. You can't let your children get out in the road for the druggies driving down the road so fast. I will never give up on him. He is a good boy. His addiction just won't let him see that right now.

drugs are everywhere.on ever street in america.but the people in magoffin cty. seem to be the highest number of abusers.the jobless rate in eastern ky is really bad. but some of the people there should get off their lazy tails and go to work. but that's a bad word there i guess. they cannot spell the word WORK......drugs are sold to make fast easy money as so they think.hopefully one day the people will wise up and spell the roses.but until then,it is still a mess.

My son has worked since he has been 16. He is a very productive person, can do any kind of work, especially construction, of any kind. He scored in the top 20 in highschool, off record...top 10 county wide and for the first time in his life, is drawing unemployment....worked long enough to be able to. I think that says something for him. He is the greatest help at home for me and would help out anyone, especially the elderly, with work around their house such as helping with their gardens, etc. I do agree about working and he would never sit back without being productive. When his unemployment runs out, he will go back to work. Never has sold drugs. However, I do agree about working, but the poverty level is high and that makes drug abuse, possibly quite higher. Believe me, the rich and poor alike can be addicts. Nevertheless, when your an addict, the more you make the more you spend and the worse the addiction becomes. Children cannot help where they are born, and Magoffin has one of the highest unemployment rates in the state. For some reason, Magoffin seems to never prosper. Yes, drugs are everywhere....I think they just hit eastern ky. by surprise all at once. Get the doctors and dealers, help the problem some...it's alot late now.

It is a disease. You are right, the first step should be to rehab. Our judge has been really good about that. But, it takes long term rehabs...at least 12 month programs and also staying away from the same friends you had when you get out of rehab. Establishing new, healthy friendships is very important and also staying away from alcohol and getting an education or a job so you can feel worthy. As a mother myself with a child on drugs, I know exactly what you are going through. Neverending nights, turning into days, thinking that you can find a solution. You cannot. I've tried too long to help, not just my child, but others as well, until I have gotten to where I didn't think I could make it through another day. The only solution is the addict finally getting fed up and wanting to change their own life and taking steps toward sobriety. My child seems to want the help and I pray that he sticks with it.

It is sad how our people are dieing off day by day because of the drugs .all the over doses and all the ones that has that close call it's sad .If you had to look at your dad ,child brother mother ect. lying in a coffin and pay to have them a good burial knowing someone sold them the last fix or vice versa .
the blood that will held on the hands of the sellers and the Rx giver is a scary thought ..its time when they catch them put them away stop smackin them on the wrist like babies and then turning them back out ..but if it wasn't for all the dr.'s who are pen happy they get paid to get you family members hooked and we sat back and keep allowing this to kill our family and friends off .if they would take some of them to the morgue and let them see the ones who dont make it maybe it would help stop some of the younger kids. it's sad this county is a joke. if they would start making the dope heads and sellers do as the child molester have to do and register them as what they are killers maybe the shame would help cut down on some of the crime . people stand up for you family turn in these sellers they are molesting and raping us by taking our family members from us .I purpose that we try and get a law that they get busted 1 time that they have to register as a known killer or at least register that they are know drug dealers.
you reap what you sow ,maybe somehwere down this sad life you may have a son or daughter that someone gets hooked on these drugs and you reap what you have sowed over the years sad to say maybe bury your own ..come on people stand up for the sick who are controlled by drugs and are not able to make the right choices ..those who have kids or are able to have kids force them to be fixed because they are only haveing these babie for meal tickets and drugs .and the kids don't get a chance .. WE NEED TO GET TO STOP AND CHANGE AND GET LAWS IN HERE TO HELP PROTECT OUR LOVED ONES ..NO BODY LIKES A THIEF AND WE ARE BEING ROBBED DAILY BY THESE DRUG HEADS OF DEALERS ..AND DR.S

I agree, the doctors have to be stopped. I realize there are patients that need medicine. But, whichever federal or state law officials that are suppose to be keeping a watch over this, is not doing their job. Just keep having faith, although at times, I lose mine. We can never give up on our children.

Thank for agreeing ,
the sad thing is the patients that realy need the drugs can't get the help they need for the junkies ,
and family members who are stealing to resale to get the fix of there choice ,,sad but true .and these clinics who treat these pregnant women they need to report this to the authorities when they test the blood and know they are pregnant and using at the same time ,the bill that passed today may help put some of these junkies away if a child is born addicted or they mis-carrie dou to the drug use ,I think it is a great law that was set in place today they also need to make them have tubols , the un born child has not got a chance or a voice to be heard just like the little children who suffer each day watching there parents use ,I bet 1/2 of the elementary kids can tell you how to make meth and how to use because this is what they are looking at each day .
you know it's all around us every family in magoffin county has at least one or more members dieing every day from drugs .. the new law that went in affect today I say thank you LORD
get up people tell on every strange thing you see you could save someones lives by just speaking up.
why wait till they are laying in a funeral home to say i should have done this or that ,,now is the time to help ..report the sellers if you know them report the buyer if you know thats where they are going have your family member followed so you can get these pwople busted ..everyone has cell phones theses days use them the right way help our people by reporting keep them alive by helping ........I love all of Gods creation LET EVERY THING THAT HAS BREATH PRAISE YE THE LORD??>>>>>

just look at the people who are walking around with a mouth full of rotten teeth or no teeth faces with sores most of the people have medical cards that help them pay the dr. visits why are the state not monitoring the activity more the pharmacy's need to report evry oxy they release ..and yea these people don't realize the money they spend on drugs they could own just about anything they could imagine.. foodstamp cards -food for the children are being traded such as some of these little hick stores will give you $50.00 for a $20.00 trade even though you purchased nothing its is sad stand up people.

The doctors need to be monitored very closely. This would help a great deal.

I will contact the official authorities with these two names. It would help if you could give us the day they bring it in and who is selling for them. Maybe, the vehicle make, model and color if possible.
