I am amazed at how many times they can repave US 17. It seems as though every year they are repaving one section or another whether it appears to be needed or not. Instead of repaving, why not take care of the drainage problem along the median strips. Whenever it rains or snows, there are always large puddles of standing water because it can't drain, has no place to go. This causes traffic hazards. Otherwise, spend some of those tax dollars on the secondary roads which in many cases need it more than 17.

They need to make 17 an interstate-like highway. Put in some overpasses and an exit every 1-3 miles instead of stop lights every 1/4 to 1/2 mile. Our peninsula is being choked by traffic and its own infrastructure. Do it right the first time-accomodate for the inevitable future expansion and increased traffic load: do not marginally adjust in such small increments.
