I went in to fill out an application and the woman said it would take 45 minutes to an hour! Do you have to be a rocket scientist to work there? Something about a prescreening exam along with the application. I know some people that work there and surely it cannot be that hard! What's yours thoughs on GCS?

GCS is the biggest shit hole in Saltville...I've worked there twice. But only because I had to....got fired in January for some bullshit! They are very UNorganized and have people working there that should be in the freakin state hospital...but I ABSOLUTELY feel bad for any1 who has to be there... I wouldn't advise working there honestly!

I live here in saltville and was in need of a job.
I am honest, clean, I do not do drugs and consider myself a hard, dedicated worker. They would not hire me. They said I was not qualified. I just really wonder what the real qualifications are?

i worked there for 2 years and it was the most miserable job i ever had. a lot of people think it sounds easy but it isn't. the work isn't the bad part, it is the management. Management is very rude, unorganized, snotty, and down right mean. Workers get treated awful. I know it is hard to find a job now, but go to ussolutionsgroup.com and apply. it is in marion, you track packages for fedex, and it has better pay. they are starting a class on feb. 22, so I would try that first if I were you. I also got hired with no experience at all.

I work there. Great job and easy to get along with everyone. Sometimes don't get the recognition you deserve but overall job is good. Try and reapply if you feel you are well qualified. I notice the only person complaining is someone who got fired. By the way, slandering a business is against the law so careful what you say.

I know 4 people who work or have worked at US Solutions and they all say/said it is 10 times worse then GCS and three of them have come back wanting their job back.

slander is spoken...so no slander here.

libel is written...and for what its worth there is no libel here yet...just negative written opinions.

i guess its really just a matter of opinion. There are about 15 I used to work with working at U.S. Solutions and they say they love it. I didn't get fired and I am complaining about the place. I really feel like that place is a true hell hole.

Honestly...I feel what I feel and that plce caused me a lot of stress...I am glad I am not there anymore because my family is a whole lot happier without GCS in our lives...we may be hurtin for income right now...but I an not so strrssed. As for me "slandering" the place...its my opinion and I am just advising sum1 to stay away from there if they want to be happy!

Lol GCS is awesome! I've worked there for 3 years and I love it! 3 people quit and went to us solutions cause GCS "was horrible" and they've all come back wanting their jobs back! One came back CRYING wanting their job back so bad! I don't go to school and my husband don't work so I HAVE to work. Last month managemnt let us work as much overtime as we wanted! You know how much my check was compared to what it usually is?! And as an incentive, the person that worked the most overtime got $50 cash! And this past Thursday about 15 people got an extra $20 cash for being at goal for the month! Doesn't sound too bad to me!

For each their own and Iam glad that u enjoy your job....sincerely...I loved SOME aspects of it but it just wasn't for me! And those incentives were not available to us when I worked there! I was on SBBA and we were not able to work over...

The work consists of calling people to persuade them to buy a "good deal", the contacts are often rude and impatient, and to top it all off, management waits to pounce on any mistake you make like a spider waits for a fly.
As far as who gets hired, I've noticed that most of them have no perceptable mountain accent.
All in all, GCS isn't that bad, and any job is better than none, especially now that the economy is shot to sh--.

If I had a choice, I wouldn't work at all; I'm sure I'd have a wonderful life camping, fishing, watching the stars roll 'round the heavens...Yeah, I could so get into that, but I have kids who need me and the income I carry home every two weeks. When it comes to a choice between a gypsy's life and a baby's hug, I'll take the grimy little hug and the gummy little kiss any day.
It proves that your parents curse you when you're little--my mommy used to call me a rock, and it'd make me mad; now I am a rock to lean on, and it makes me feel proud.

I know the feeling...and I am n the same position...that's y as much as I HATED my job at GCS...I was bawling like a baby as they walked me out. That's because iknew that my child...ssoon to be CHILDREN wld be hurting...but then again like my fiancÚ pointed out...its better off because he has a job that can support us well and I will have more time to be a full time Mommy! I can be here for my kid(s) when they are sick and not worry about getting fired. I wish I was workin still so I didn't have to pinch pennies but at least I won't miss my VERY young child(ren)s live(s). I know I have made mistakes in the past but I am now a Mom 1st...BEFORE anything. I honestly do not mean to "down" GCS...they just hurt me in a way that makes me revengeful...I will overcome this though and be a. Better person! I do apologize if I offended any1....cept for that one person at GCS who told in me to save their own ass and they KNOW who they are...

Well, I've been fired once, and that was because I loved that company so well that found another job and just disappeared; about three weeks later I recieved a letter saying, "You are fired, fired, and fired." I reckon they had to make it official.
Now before the kids arrived, if someone dissed me, I'd quit (poof!) right in front of their eyes like a magic trick. When real kids came along to take my place, I gave up and grew up enough to have more patience with ol' Odie Most of the time what you can save by not having to keep up an automobile to get to work, by not paying insurance and maybe payments on one, by not buying gas, by one or both of you not having to buy lunch somewhere, and by not having to pay a baby-sitter is nearly what you'd make working
anyway.
I may be old fashioned, but I believe the best thing for kids is to have their mother around, especially when they're little. A babysitter might be good to them, but not like a mommy can.
Don't bother with revenge on the skunk who finked you out; when an evil goes round, it comes back through with evil glee. And think of it this way, you learned not to trust anybody who doesn't earn that trust, didn't you? If all they caused was embarrassment and the loss of a not-so-good job, then remember that sometimes God shuts a door so he can open another one.

Thank u sooO much...u r actually on herr to give advice....not just put people down! I do agree with you that a mother should be at home with their young children so maybe I am better off... And also thank u for making me forget revenge...well mybe not forget but make it LESS IMPORTANT to me. this person will get what's coming to them and it will be karma that delivers it not me! Maybe God took me from a stressful situatin that I was forcing myself to be in...Maybe...thanks for ur advice....u from Saltville? A lot of people would just criticize me for my past and for not having a job but I honestly tried...
