Question 1:
How much money do you think Jamey Puckett owes because of bad checks?
Question 2:
How much longer do you think he will be able to get away with this and STILL keep his job?

Just answer the questions

Well sad to say, but his job has nothing to do with him writing bad checks. And for his job, well, as long as he does what he is suppose to do and stay out of trouble. But now if he should get in trouble for writing those checks and get a felony charge, they will be letting him go pretty fast I do believe.

Well I think he can't lose his job. As far as I know, no one has lost their job for bad checks. However, he is a police officer for the town so it could be possible that he does lose his job. So I guess I really have no idea and I am just going on and on for nothing.Hmmm.

No you're not going on and on. You are correct. Like I said, he could not be employed in that position if there were felony charges for writing checks. I believe if I am not mistaken, it's not a felony to write a small check less than so much money, but if you write a check on a closed account then it becomes a felony.

Jamey, how does it feel to know that the State Police are breathing down your neck. They're watching your every move.
If you have the money to pay for the internet and are a subscriber, I assume you are reading this. I will help you out a little. Here are some hints.
1. They are driving a silver car.
2. Look over your shoulder, look all around you, they are right there...right in front of you, someone you would never expect.
3. Be afraid, be veryyyyy afraid.(I would if I were you).
4. You consider this person a friend, a close friend.
5. He/She has been at the firehall/softball fields bragging about this.
6. Keep your ear to the ground, you will hear it.
7. Also, he WANTS Steve's job...he told everyone that WHEN (not if, when) he gets the job, you will NOT be working for him. He says this is because its a full time job just to cover up for you.

This is coming from a friend Jamey. I know you do wrong, but I am supportive of you. I know you are a good person deep down. We all make mistakes, yours are being a liar and cheater...but I'm your number one fan.

Jamey thinks you can buy a book of checks for $15 and just write out as much as you want. If I were him I'd read the fine print.
Jamey, I am trying to help you!! You have to have money in the checking account before you can acutally write the checks!! You don't get unlimited funds for $15 at your local bank.
Come see me buddy, I'll explain how the whole "checking account" thing works.

Come on, he's old enough to know how a checking account works. Its all credits and debits. Your credits should be more than your debits. Just because you have checks don't mean you have money. Also, shouldn't the town have taken his child support out of his payroll? Jails are full of people who don't pay their child support.

Well, most everyone will bounce a check now and then. Numbers can be tricky little bastards every now and then. But to intentionally bounce them is another thing altogether. And face it, when you get the letter from the bank telling you ir bounced, that is the time to contact who you wrote it to, be a man, appologize and pay them, not wait for it to have to go to court. Now as to the legality of it, automatic felony if over $200 OR written on a closed account. However, even a $2 check can get ya a huge fine and 90 days in jail. And more then 3 in a year can become a felony charge "Habitual Offender'

I agree with Wrathcchild 3777, everyone has money problems from time to time, but to keep writting checks after you know you don't have any money, is just wrong. A $2.00 check can be returned with an NSF fee to the bank $20 to $40.00 (the check can be presented for payment upto 3 times, NSF fees can be charged each time)plus the fee the store charges, often $20 to $40.00 as well and let's not forget the fee the bank charges the store for the return item,$1.00 to $20.00 then if you don't pay the store and they take you to court and you end up paying the check $2.00 plus court cost(I have no idea what those would be) and all the other fees or jail time. Is the $2.00 check really worth it? A $2.00 check could turn into a $200.00 check.... Think about that before you write another check.

All I can say is that Jamey Puckett needs to get over himself! He isn't the "gorgeous man" that he thinks he is, and everyone in Saltville thinks he's a joke! It's really sad that he loves himself more than anyone else in the world. And this is what we have representing our town!!! WOOOO SPD!!!

I personally don't know this Puckett, must be a Saltville Police Officer, that some on this post have a problem with. If I would only save my newspapers, I remember some officer that wrote bad checks, bought several new vehicles without a penny in a checking account. Don't think he served any time, he had some sort of mental illness (I don't know what mental illness), but he didn't have to pay for his crimes. So maybe this Puckett can do the same. Do any of you remember this incident?

No I don't remember this incident. But you would think that Mr. Puckett would know better to write bad checks being a police officer. I think they all need to go back to school to learn how to be a real cop. How do you have respect for one who has no clue how to manage there money or and also lies. Maybe thats what it takes to be a cop in Saltville. They all need to remember that what comes around goes around or what goes around comes around. If this is true about the bad checks. I hate it for him cause he has alot of come arounds yet and some others. They all lie.

Could you clarify what you are trying to say please? Too sorry to work and too chicken shit to what? Jamey does need some help, poor fella. He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Maybe they can't fire him yet. It is interesting at what he has been able to get by with and still keep his job.
