Looks like our beloved elected officials have set us up for huge water bills increases by contracting out the management of the system. Is there a way to impeach Vince Maiden and company?

Five minutes of due diligence. Something Vince and crew either don't undertake or are motivated by something other than protecting the town.

Again we have caused a "incurable deceptive act"
to our citizens of Saltville. Vince this is the last straw, we should had a public survey on this matter. I hope someone runs your a** out of town. What is it you always say "I vote for very citizen for their best interest" Mike Taylor reread what you wrote in the news paper. That our council is not afraid to step forward into the future. Well our town has no future with this group. Why are we building a new town shop, next year the street and roads will be looking for a job.

I have heard that the way they went about getting the citizens to agree to support the new water system was like: "Why, Honey, adding the sewer won't cost any more than your water bill is right now." That led people to believe that their $15.00 water bill wouldn't go up. There was a grant, after all, that covered the cost of installing the new water system.
Then the ax fell. The sewer bill was no higher than the water bill, but when it was added to the water bill, the cost became double, like $30.00 rather than $15.00.
Then the cost was raised because someone took a notion that the grant had to be repaid (I believe the definition of "grant" precludes that, but if you ask the town officials, they tell you they have nothing to do with it; go ask the county officials. If you ask the county officials, they refer you to the town officials.)
Pretty little set-up, isn't it?
I do know that if they had told people, "We're going to do you a big favor, and up date your utilities, but it'll cost you over sixty dollars or better each month.", they'd have had to put down a riot. Therefore, the citizens were deceived if not lied to outright.

Go by the present town shop. Got a barbecue trailer sitting there. Can see our money being burned in it right now. Too bad instead of having a barbecue for the council they don't barbecue them instead. All that publicity about them doing things for the town for nothing. Might be for the town but not the citizens. Have you ever saw a company do something without expecting to profit from it?

Indiana Customer Complaint - In their own words !
January 2, 2011 4:37 PM
Maybe if the city wouldn't have sold it's most valuable resource to a private company from the start, this mess would have never happened. If people in Indy don't start getting real upset about this issue by pressing local officials for municipalization the problem will be the same with any company they sell the water to. At least if the city owns the water, citizens can demand change and vote on it. I don't know about anyone else, but I need water to live. Good water!! What will really hurt is when citizens have to choose water or....... I guess there really isn't anything more important besides air and food.

Another complaint !
Lots more if the Town Council would investigate !
I pay the crooks $4.95 a month
December 28, 2010 8:56 PM
That way I could have my meter read each month. That was after they had estimated my meter for more than 2 months. I think anyone with an irrigation system was getting hosed by these jerks. When I refused to pay from estimates. When they finally read it I had in excess of a $500 credit which ran from Nov until EOM June of the next year. I had to get the crooks to reverse the BOGUS LATE CHARGES WHICH WERE BASED ON FELONIOUS ESTIMATES. To he'll with their bogus 29M

Have you done any of the math ?
- 4.95 / Month to read our meter
10,000.00 / Month @ 2,000 meters
120,000.00 / Year to read our meters ?

Hire me to read meters @ 40,000.00 / Year !

How many man / days does it take Town employees
to read the meters ?
Answer: 2 Town employees X 3 Days / month
Assume $ 200 / Day per man =$ 1,200.00 / month
to read Town's meters !

Now we outsource the task, reduce town employees,
reduce our working tax base and the large $$$ go
to the company headquarters in France !
A loss to our local tax base and employment rate.

Do you really believe that a foreign owned
company will act in our Town's or Customer's
best interest ?

This term may be your last - Fat boy !

Boil water notice for East Main St, Cedar Branch and Buckeye St. See tricities.com . People better be complaining now not just after a raise hike. It's not only Vinnie the Pooh all need to go along with that Saltville rag paper bragging on how good the water company was and the reporter who can;'t get her facts from that paper in Marion.

Well that just shows you they're for the rich. If a person gets a ticket for riding a golf cart they come up with something to please him. A person gets their water cut off after his bill was paid before the deadline they won't change their rules to avoid mistakes.
