I had an operation to correct left carotid stenosis a little over two years ago. The operation required a one night stay in the hospital. I had no health insurance. After two years of making payments toward the debt I finally paid the last of it off last month.

Today I got a bill in the mail regarding that account. I apparently now owe an additional amount of 0 dollars and zero cents. They requested immediate payment and even sent a pre-addressed envelope for my "convenience". So I just wrote a check for zero dollars and zero cents payable to them. Far be it from me to not pay my bills!!!

Tri-care does the same thing to me on medicine. They send me a letter saying I owe 0 dollars. They could save postage by sending me one letter a year in December.
