Yeah, Popcorn, opted out the last time he was up for practicing his hobby. I'd have liked to have met him.
Meanwhile, don't forget Marion "Button-Eye" Taylor, and did'nt Drag Talley dabble in that a time or two? I can't remember, Drag may have stuck to making moonshine of the finest degree...

Lets see how this goes. Who is the best drug dealer in Town? We know all the Bootleggers.. I bet know one will tell who these guys are. I know one Jay Puckett. Also known as informent.
half Saltville druggies are snitches in town.the police had the jump on the selling and using business. I can name you several drug dealers..and don't give a damn to do it..I ain't afraid...they're so damned scared, like chickenlittle, they sell drugs they get caught, somebody had to tell, even if it looked like little lulus lemonade stand, nobody is going to notice, and the damned sky fell, they got busted. THe thing with the sincity dealers they're all in the police circle, and have to point a finger at somebody...if I wanted to push, I'm not invisible, I recognize the fact that I can get caught...It's me doing the shit, I'm gonna be responsible for the time...I done it to myself...

Popcorn had a special on his life, on t.v. he was famous and said it was his calling in life... No body mentioned Hat Helton..In the 50's the Fryes up in the valley wore badges to keep from selling shine to each other..Cat Frye..Lord might forgive him but it would take awile to forget him.

most of y'all are way to young to remember but back in the day there were several real good 'shiner's around these parts.

now ole dude frye was a seller but not a maker. ole dude couldn't boil water but he sure could sell it. the makes fell to dude's brothers and even some of his kids. most folks didn't know so they thought ole dude done the makin'

sillhouse hollow as called that for a very good reason...because that is what is was. old man kirby, vince hagy, were just a couple of the good ones. i think somebody mentioned grat earlier and he was good. now my mind gets all fuzzy but if i remember right there was there was a surber up there.

also there was a reedy from over in sugar grove who used to drive twice a week from sugar grove up through saltville and across to tazewell and make pick ups and deliveries. he would also venture over to war and gary. he kept at it until way up in the 60's.
